Subject 2923 is the second DLC for\u00a0Remnant: From the Ashes<\/strong><\/em>, the Souls-like shooter from developers Gunfire Games. The DLC takes players on a\u00a0journey to discover the origins of the Dreamer program, and its connection to the Root.\u00a0Subject 2923 takes place after the main story of Remnant: From the Ashes<\/em><\/a>, and introduces new locations, bosses, and weapons.<\/p>\n

One of the new weapons that the DLC adds<\/a> is the Machine Pistol, a new hand-gun with a rapid rate-of-fire but a small magazine. Unlike some of the new weapons, the Machine Pistol is a little tricky to acquire. It’s worth the effort though, as the gun’s considerable DPS and quick-reload make it a powerful defense in close-quarters.<\/p>\n

The Machine Pistol can be found in the Ward Prime location, a US military facility that was used during the Dreamers project<\/a>.\u00a0The new gun can found on a first trip to Ward Prime, so players should start by fast-travelling to the crystal there. On arrival, head out the door into the “Main Bay” area. Take a right toward the large white B1, then follow the corridor to the left.<\/p>\n

There are no enemies in this section, making it easy to reach the Machine Pistol<\/a>‘s location. Halfway down the corridor, before reaching the glowing red mushrooms, take the small door on the right. It leads to a small office, with a computer on the desk. Interact with the computer and enter the password “241351.” Then choose the “Unlock Storage Room” option.<\/p>\n

Players who’ve done everything right should hear a clank from behind them as the\u00a0locked door opens. Leave the computer and go through the newly-opened door at the back of the room. The Machine Pistol +10 can be found on a shelf on the right of the storage closet. It’ll be easy to spot with its purple glow, and there\u00a0aren’t any other weapons or mods<\/a>\u00a0in the room.<\/p>\n

With 16 Damage and an RPS of 18, the Machine Pistol can take a chunk out of even the strongest enemies in Remnant: From the Ashes<\/em><\/a>. The 24-round magazine makes sustained fire difficult, but is offset by a quick reload. Critical Hits can’t be relied on with a chance of just 5%, and the effective range is fairly short at 18m, but the max ammo of 240 makes the Machine Pistol a reliable side-arm\u00a0for long battles.<\/p>\n
