After months of rumors and a week of teaser videos, Activision has officially announced\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/strong><\/em>. But besides confirming that the game exists and a proper\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a> reveal will come on August 26, the announcement was actually devoid of details. For example, it wasn’t confirmed which platforms\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> would be releasing for, but now we know of at least one.<\/p>\n

It’s been confirmed by Blizzard that\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> will be coming to PC, and that the PC version of the game will be exclusive to the company’s Battle.net<\/a> launcher. This should come as no surprise, as it’s been the status quo for\u00a0PC\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> games for years now, but it’s still nice to have confirmation either way. It was also confirmed by Blizzard that the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> PC port is being handled by Beenox, which assists in the development of a variety of Activision-published games.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, more information on\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> is unavailable at the time of this writing, with fans likely having to wait until August 26<\/a> before they’ll get the chance to learn more. However, it seems safe to assume that\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the very least, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions highly likely as well.<\/p>\n

As for when fans will actually get to play the new\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> game, that also has yet to be revealed. A prominent\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> franchise leaker has made the claim that the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> multiplayer beta<\/a> will take place at some point in September, with the full game launching in November. This would pretty much be in line with most\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> releases, with last year’s October release date for\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em> being an exception to the rule.<\/p>\n

It’s possible that the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> August 26 reveal will provide release date information as well as specify the platforms that the game will be available on. It may also offer a deep dive into the available game modes. It’s pretty much a given that\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> will have a single player campaign as well as the franchise’s traditional versus multiplayer mode<\/a>, but it’s unclear if it will have any other game modes as well.<\/p>\n

Rumor has it that\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> is bringing back Zombies<\/a>, but that has yet to be revealed. Hopefully more information on that front comes on August 26.<\/p>\n
