Rare released\u00a0the newest entry in the classic\u00a0Battletoads<\/strong><\/em> franchise earlier this week. According to critics,\u00a0Battletoads\u00a0<\/em>seems to have generally stuck the landing<\/a> considering it needed to simultaneously please newcomers to the series as well as fans of the classic from the ’90s. Now that the game is available to the public, players are looking to\u00a0dive into the brawler and add to their gamerscores through various achievements.<\/p>\n

Rare released the list of achievements for\u00a0Battletoads<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>a few days before the game’s launch on PC and Xbox One. Most of the achievements for\u00a0Battletoads<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>are gained simply by playing through the story mode, however, some of them need a little extra searching and experimenting to unlock, such as the mysterious ‘The Dlala Code’ achievement.<\/p>\n

The Dlala Code is a parody of the classic Konami Code. In order to unlock The Dlala Code achievement, players will need to watch the credits through the main menu of\u00a0Battletoads<\/em> (which players will also gain an achievement for doing). During the credits when the Dlala Studios<\/a> logo comes on screen, and players will need to press the following button inputs, with directional inputs being done on the D-Pad: Down, Left, A, Left, A. Once the final button is pressed, the achievement should unlock right away.<\/p>\n

While this may be the first\u00a0Battletoads\u00a0<\/em>game in 26 years, that doesn’t mean that the toads have been up to nothing all these years. Over the years, the\u00a0Battletoads\u00a0<\/em>made guest appearances in Yacht Club Games’\u00a0PC and Xbox One versions of\u00a0Shovel Knight<\/em><\/a>, and Rash made his fighting game debut in\u00a0Killer Instinct<\/em> 5 years ago. Rare even recently added the Fightin’ Frogs Ship Set for\u00a0Sea of Thieves<\/em> to celebrate the return of the classic franchise.<\/p>\n

Battletoads\u00a0<\/em>is but one of many of the games coming to the Xbox Game Pass<\/a> in the back half of August. Only two days prior to\u00a0Battletoads<\/em>‘ release, the service saw the addition of both\u00a0Spiritfarer<\/em> and the highly anticipated\u00a0Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em>, and over the next week players will be able to play\u00a0Tell Me Why<\/em>,\u00a0Wasteland 3<\/em>, and\u00a0Resident Evil 7: Biohazard<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The new\u00a0Battletoads<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>game is technically a brawler, but it experiments with multiple genres and minigames over the course of its four acts. Many consider it to be genuinely funny, and maintain balance with its infamous difficulty. Hopefully, with this game’s success, a sequel for\u00a0Battletoads\u00a0<\/em>will soon be in the works.<\/p>\n

Battletoads<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>is available now on PC and Xbox One.<\/p>\n
