Finally revealed yesterday with a stunning teaser,\u00a0Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is officially the next game by Rocksteady. The developers of\u00a0Arkham Asylum, City,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<\/a>Knight<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>fans have been wondering for years what the team would move onto next, especially with the\u00a0Arkham\u00a0<\/em>storyline not entirely wrapping up at the climax of the trilogy.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, fans jumping from the\u00a0Arkham\u00a0<\/em>games to the next-generation take on the\u00a0Suicide Squad\u00a0<\/em>will be in luck, with Rocksteady confirming during its panel at the DC FanDome that the new game will take place in the same universe as the\u00a0<\/a>Batman<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>trilogy. Not only that, but it seems the game is classed as a “continuation of the Arkhamverse,” which seems to paint it as more than just a spin-off of the widely-acclaimed story Rocksteady told through its seminal trilogy.<\/p>\n

For those who played\u00a0Arkham Knight,\u00a0<\/em>they’ll remember that the studio wasn’t exactly shy about peppering hints and teases towards the wider DC universe. Thugs could be heard talking about\u00a0Superman candidly, while Metropolis is brought up several times in passing conversations and is even alluded to by Talia Ghul in\u00a0Arkham City.\u00a0<\/em>Arkham Origins\u00a0<\/em>even saw the introduction of the Suicide Squad<\/a> itself, with Amanda Waller telling Deathstroke that she was forming a new team of villains. As\u00a0the game’s creative director Sefton Hill\u00a0claimed in its post-trailer interview, “a lot of the threads and storylines you’re going to see come to fruition in this game,” so fans who wanted to see what happened to The Caped Crusader and his allies following\u00a0Knight’s\u00a0<\/em>ending should stay tuned.\u00a0The announcement takes place at 10:49 of the clip below:<\/p>\n
