Game of Thrones<\/em><\/strong><\/a> star Sophie Turner\u00a0has acquired an appropriate prop from the final season of the HBO<\/a> series. The actress who portrayed Sansa Stark revealed the new item through a post on her official Instagram stories feed.<\/p>\n

HBO’s Game of Thrones<\/em> chronicled the wars and alliances between multiple families vying to claim the Iron Throne and rule the\u00a0Seven Kingdoms\u00a0of Westeros. Over the course of the series’ eight-season run, Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark grew from a frightened young girl struggling to survive the\u00a0abuse of King Joffrey and Ramsay Bolton into a formidable leader who earned the confidence of the North as the Lady of Winterfell. In the series finale, Jon Snow murdered\u00a0Daenerys Targaryen shortly after she conquered Kings Landing<\/a> and\u00a0left Westeros with few known individuals who had a legitimate claim to the\u00a0Iron Throne. As\u00a0multiple surviving characters argued over who should be named the ruler of the Seven Kingdoms following the assassination of\u00a0Daenerys, Sansa declared the North’s secession from Westeros\u00a0as an independent Kingdom.<\/p>\n

In the closing moments of Game of Thrones<\/em>‘ final episode, Santa Stark was shown sitting in a wooden throne\u00a0as the noble families crowned her the Queen in the North. Now, Turner has shared a new photo of the wooden throne with a caption reading, “welcome home.” The photo, which was also\u00a0shared by Turner’s husband Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers<\/a>, gives fans a closer look a the dire wolf carvings on the throne. Not the coziest chair in the house, but\u00a0it’s certainly a conversation starter.<\/p>\n

While Game of Thrones<\/em> was once hailed, particularly during the early seasons, the series received more criticism towards the end of its run. That criticism culminated in largely negative reviews for the final episode, which\u00a0was lambasted for multiple reasons that included what many perceived as poor handling of Daenerys Targaryen’s descent into madness. Even certain cast members, past and present, were disappointed by the final episodes of the series. Charles Dance, who portrayed Tywin Lannister until the character was killed off in the fourth season, noted that he would sign\u00a0a petition<\/a> to remake the final season.<\/p>\n

Regardless of how fans may have felt about the series finale, Game of Thrones<\/em> season 8 still managed to win the coveted Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2019. Now, HBO is developing a prequel series following the downfall of the\u00a0House Targaryen titled\u00a0House of the Dragon<\/i>, due to be released in\u00a02022.<\/span><\/p>\n

Still, fans could get the Game of Thrones<\/em> ending they hoped for in George R. R. Martin’s conclusion to the Song of Ice and Fire<\/em> book series on which the HBO show\u00a0is based. While it has been nearly a decade since the most recent book, A Dance with Dragons<\/em>, was published, Martin recently assured fans he was making progress on the forthcoming novel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Game of Thrones<\/em> is now available on HBO Max.<\/p>\n
