Activision has finally revealed\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/strong> to the world in an explosive trailer that mainly showcases the game’s campaign. Additional details about what the\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a> campaign will entail have since been revealed by developer Raven Software.<\/p>\n

Treyarch<\/a> will be handling the\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> multiplayer development, whereas Raven Software is working on the campaign. Raven Software previously made 2010’s\u00a0Singularity<\/em>, which earned strong reviews at the time of its release, so many fans will be happy to see the studio back in the driver’s seat for a single-player FPS experience. However, Raven looks to be making some big changes to the\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> campaign<\/a> formula that should shake things up quite a bit.<\/p>\n

In the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> campaign, players will be able to choose dialogue and make choices that can impact the narrative. There will also be optional side missions that\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> players will unlock that they can play to further impact the main story. It will all lead to the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> finale, which will have multiple endings. Besides the choices players make, the way they choose to play the game will also influence how it ends.<\/p>\n

By having multiple endings,\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em>‘s campaign should have a lot more replay value than the typical\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> campaign. The inclusion of side missions is a nice touch as well, and should also go a long way in ensuring that the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> campaign is a little meatier than what franchise fans are used to in the games.<\/p>\n

Of course, the campaign is still just one piece of the\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> puzzle. Along with the campaign, players can also expect\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em>\u00a0to deliver the traditional\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> multiplayer experience<\/a>, in addition to the co-op Zombies mode. More information on multiplayer will be coming on September 9, but it’s unclear exactly when fans will get a more in-depth look at Zombies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far, it seems fans have reacted positively to\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em>‘s reveal trailer<\/a>, and seem optimistic about the game. Raven Software is certainly taking risks with the campaign, but it should still be familiar to longtime fans of the franchise.
