More details have been revealed about what video game fans\u00a0can expect to see\u00a0at\u00a0Gamescom 2020, which will feature at least 20 games its opening night<\/a>. There will be big name titles and indies throughout the two-hour event, and a certain 30-year-old franchise will be getting a new entry.\u00a0Strictly Limited Games and Factor 5 have announced\u00a0that Turrican<\/strong><\/em> will be receiving a 30-year anniversary project, and the game\u00a0will officially be shown at Gamescom.<\/p>\n

Turrican<\/em> was first released in 1990 for the Commodore 64<\/a>. After that, the series saw four more entries\u00a0in the early- to mid-1990s, with the most recent being Super Turrican 2<\/em>\u00a0in 1995. Now,\u00a025 years since\u00a0the franchise put out its last installment, that drought is about to end.<\/p>\n

Turrican is often remembered for having an amazing 16-bit soundtrack<\/a>, along with solid\u00a0run-and-gun gameplay.\u00a0It is not yet known what this 30-year anniversary\u00a0game will look like, but the idea of either a new entry or a remaster being worked on by Factor 5 is something that should excite fans of classic games.<\/p>\n

The opening night of Gamescom is set to be an exciting event. Large titles like\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> will be there, showcasing supposedly new content not seen in Activision’s official reveal today, and\u00a0indie titles\u00a0like Turrican<\/em><\/strong> and Little Nightmares 2<\/em> will also be highlighted during Gamescom<\/a>. With 2020 being an\u00a0odd time for developers due to a\u00a0lack of public events like E3, it’s good\u00a0to know\u00a0Gamescom is still on track to reveal plenty of new content.<\/p>\n
