Among the fray, EA has announced a variety of new games, especially those that are <em>Star Wars<\/em> themed. Debuting in less than two weeks, <strong><em>The Sims 4: Journey to Batuu<\/em><\/strong> confirms an entirely new <em>Star Wars<\/em> world as DLC for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/the-sims-4\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>The Sims 4<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Sims 4<\/em> players have been expecting a new DLC Game pack since April 6, 2020 when SimGuru Drake posted an update about the team and their projects. Simmers already received the new Expansion (<em>Eco Lifestyle<\/em>) and Stuff packs (<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sims-4-nifty-knitting-heavy-metal-knitting\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">community voted <em>Nifty Knitting<\/em><\/a>) that were teased, so many players eagerly awaited on bated breath what the game pack reveal would entail.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/star-wars-squadrons-pre-order-bonuses\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">All Star Wars: Squadrons Pre-Order Bonuses<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/A4swl1VObu8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Then August 2, 2020 arrived, sending Simmers into a flurry of speculation. From theories about farming to winter wonderland ski lodges, everyone had something to say about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/sims-4-game-pack-icon-leak-ea\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">leaked Game pack icon<\/a>. With futuristic mushroom-topped buildings and three floating spheres, it made sense to guess a new space themed pack.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s well known in <em>Star Wars <\/em>lore that many planets have more than one sun, or moon, or both. With the confirmation of <em>Journey to Batuu<\/em>, it is now known that the planet shown in the game pack icon is none other than Batuu with its three suns. This location is the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/star-wars-tales-from-the-galaxys-edge-oculus-quest\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inspiration behind Disney\u2019s <em>Galaxy\u2019s Edge<\/em><\/a> theme park and will serve as a rich backdrop for Simmers\u2019 game play.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/kotor.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>This is not EA\u2019s first <em>Star Wars<\/em> themed game. In addition to the new titles coming out between 2020 and 2021, EA was\u00a0the publisher in <em>Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic<\/em>. The game was released in 2003 as an RPG set in the <em>Star Wars <\/em>universe. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/star-wars-high-republic-knights-kotor\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Knights of the Old Republic<\/em><\/a> lives up to the hype, maintaining exceptionally high critic scores and even making it on <em>Time<\/em>\u2019s All-Time 100 Video Games list in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><em>Knights of the Old Republic<\/em> is an RPG, meaning players can forget about life for a bit and immerse themselves in the world that the game transports them to\u2014in this case, <em>Star Wars<\/em>. <em>The Sims<\/em> has always been marketed as a life-simulation game. On occasion, the developer has\u00a0 added in supernatural elements, but they mostly stick to real-life simulating ideas, situations, etc. Which makes <em>Star Wars<\/em> DLC even more surprising for the EA franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Will the success of <em>Knights of the Old Republic<\/em> help EA in this case? <em>Journey to Batuu<\/em> is reminiscent of <em>Knights of the Old Republic<\/em> with the ability to play a character in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/canceled-star-wars-games-1313-ragtag-kotor-3-force-unleashed-3\/\">the <em>Star Wars<\/em> universe<\/a>. Partnered with the ability to use a lightsaber, complete missions, and players\u2019 ability to choose to side with the Resistance or the First Order, it\u2019s easy to see the comparison between the new DLC and the classic game. These similarities may draw old <em>Knights of the Old Republic <\/em>players back in. However, these collaborations have not always gone over well with Simmers. Which begs the question\u2014is it a smart decision?<\/p>\n<p><em>Star Wars <\/em>fans are notoriously dedicated to the franchise, so this hame pack could be a great way <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-sims-unsolved-mysteries\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">to draw in new <em>Sims<\/em> players<\/a> who want to experience Batuu in such an interactive way. Plus, with the amount of customization that\u2019s possible in <em>The Sims 4<\/em>, players can easily make their sim-selves and send them off to learn how to wield a lightsaber or build a droid from scratch.<\/p>\n<p>In the same vein, however, <em>The Sims 4<\/em> does already have some <em>Star Wars<\/em> aspects available in-game for free. There are costumes of Darth Vader and Princess Leia, not to the mention a statue of The Child available in build mode. Is it fair to ask <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-sims-4-most-useful-packs-best\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Simmers to pay more money<\/a> for a continuation of content they\u2019ve already gotten a taste of for free?
