Resident Evil has had a pretty strong run as of late, with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village pushing the franchise forward, while remakes like Resident Evil 2 and 3 bring the past to life in electrifying ways. Now, Netflix is ready to further expand the reach of Capcom’s popular gaming franchise with a new live-action series.<\/p>\n
The official reveal comes more than a year and a half after an initial report surfaced<\/a> that the project was in the works. Then, earlier this year, a description of what the series could focus on leaked<\/a>. This morning, Netflix tweeted out a very brief synopsis, as well as a photo of the script of the first episode, titled “Welcome to New Raccoon City.”<\/p>\n The first season will feature eight one-hour episodes, with Supernatural\u00a0<\/em>writer Andrew Dabb running the show. Bronwen Hughes, whose directorial credits include single episodes of\u00a0Breaking Bad<\/em>,\u00a0Burn Notice<\/em>, and\u00a0Better Call Saul<\/em>, will direct the first two episodes.<\/p>\n When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything.
