Finally debuting recently to widespread excitement,\u00a0Call of Duty\u00a0<\/em>will officially be returning this November for\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The game will be a direct sequel to the first\u00a0Black Ops<\/em><\/a>, seeing\u00a0the player create their own protagonist and\u00a0embark on a action-packed campaign centered around the real-life historical events of the Cold War.<\/p>\n

It seems the incredible visuals and blockbuster heroics shown in the trailers will come at a small price, however, with new details\u00a0claiming that the game will take up a hefty amount of space on players’ hard drives.\u00a0Discovered on the Microsoft store’s listing\u00a0for the upcoming\u00a0Call of Duty<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>sequel, it seems the title will clock in at around a 100gb download.<\/p>\n

That’s obviously a mighty chunk of any players’ hard drive, especially with most\u00a0console owners\u00a0only having around 500gb to play with. Luckily, its alternate edition\u00a0<\/em>(which comes with\u00a0Call of Duty Content Packs\u00a0<\/em>1,2,3,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a04\u00a0<\/em>alongside the base game) doesn’t clock in that much heftier, with Microsoft listing that the release will take up 100.04gb. It’s worth\u00a0noting that these might just be placeholders for the time being, with\u00a0Cold War\u00a0<\/em>still a few months away from release.<\/p>\n

It’s also safe to assume, if previous games in the series are anything to go by, that the game will also only get bigger over time.\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/a>‘s\u00a0<\/em>standard edition, for example, boasted around 50gb of content at launch. However, it now clocks in at over 200gb. With frequent new updates and additional content, it seems likely that\u00a0Cold War\u00a0<\/em>will take up\u00a0even more free space on players hard drives in time.<\/p>\n

Looking at\u00a0Cold War\u00a0<\/em>compared to several other huge games, it stacks up alongside some of this generation’s most meaty releases, including\u00a0The Last of Us 2, Red Dead Redemption 2<\/a>, Destiny 2,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Warzone.\u00a0<\/em>Hopefully, that means the game’s going to come complete with tons of content, whether that means a lengthy campaign, tons of multiplayer maps, or\u00a0perhaps\u00a0a revamped\u00a0Zombies mode.<\/p>\n

For those who didn’t catch\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/a>‘s\u00a0<\/em>recent announcement, the game will officially be available on November 13 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. Being the first next-generation\u00a0Call of Duty\u00a0<\/em>release, fans are already hoping that it’s going to do a lot to switch up the formula and embrace the advanced hardware at its disposal. They’ll get a better look at the game when Activision reveals its multiplayer on September 9.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 13, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions also in development.<\/p>\n
