The Ancient Gods, Part One is the first major story expansion for Doom Eternal, and it will be made available as a standalone download.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n News of the standalone nature of the Doom Eternal DLC was shared with PCgamesN.<\/p>\n Speaking with the site<\/a>, the game’s executive producer Marty Stratton said the team at id Software wanted the DLC to “reach as many people as possible.”<\/p>\n And it will be a rather large DLC, according to game director Hugo Martin.<\/p>\n “Most people would associate DLC with being of smaller scope – it’s kind of like the made for TV version of the movie, and the movie was the main game,” Hugo said. “For us, this is very much like a two-part film – this is every bit as grand as the main game was.”<\/p>\n The Ancient Gods, Part One was announced during gamescom Opening Night Live<\/a>, and is the first major story expansion for the game.<\/p>\n It is included in the Doom Eternal Year One Pass which comes with access to both DLCs and will run you £25\/€30\/$30. The Ancient Gods, Part One can be purchased by itself for £15.99 or regional equivalent.<\/p>\n The DLC will be made available on October 20.<\/p>\n You will also be able to pick up Doom Eternal for PS5 and Xbox Series X<\/a>. Players who own or purchase either title on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will be able to upgrade for free to the next-gen versions when available.<\/p>\n
