That said, players will most likely need to enter the Raid with at least three decently leveled Trainers\u00a0to successfully defeat the mega-powered Kanto starter.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-get-mega-energy\/\">Pokemon GO: How To Get Mega Energy<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mega Venusaur, one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-mega-evolutions-list\/\">few available Mega Pokemon<\/a>, is a Grass\/Poison type Pokemon, which means that it suffers from weaknesses to Fire, Ice, Psychic, and Flying-type attacks. Every move currently at its disposal is Grass-type, except for one of its three Charged Moves, which can be Sludge Bomb (Poison-type). Bearing this in mind, Fire-type Pokemon will probably be the most effective counters.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CEeuitdlK4l\/?igshid=2mz19hurxbve\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Some of the more impressive counters to Mega Venusaur are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mewtwo (Psychic-type attacks)<\/li>\n<li>Mega Charizard X\/Y (Fire-type attacks)<\/li>\n<li>Moltres (Fire Spin\/Sky Attack)<\/li>\n<li>Heatran (Fire Spin\/Flamethrower)<\/li>\n<li>Darmanitan (Fire Fang\/Overheat)<\/li>\n<li>Latios\u00a0(Zen Headbutt\/Psychic)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Although Venusaur is certainly weak to Fire-types, Trainers shouldn&#8217;t forget their powerful Psychic-type Pokemon &#8211; a hard-hitter like Mewtwo (with Psychic-type attacks) would be preferable to a weaker Flareon, despite its Fire typing.\u00a0Or, players going for flair\u00a0can opt to\u00a0go into battle with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/pokemon-go-victini-comes-to-everyone-in-september-special-research\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">adorable new Mythical Pokemon Victini<\/a>, which also has access to Fire and Psychic-type moves. But again, the most important thing is that a Pokemon&#8217;s attacks are actually Super Effective. A\u00a0Latios with Solar Beam instead of Psychic, for example,\u00a0becomes\u00a0a relatively\u00a0awful\u00a0counter.<\/p>\n<p>Players who&#8217;ve already been able to get their hands on a Mega Charizard are in luck, as it&#8217;s one of the top counters to Mega Venusaur. Unfortunately though, only one Pokemon can Mega Evolve at a time, so players won&#8217;t be able to stack their teams with the fiery starter.\u00a0At least players who manage to obtain Mega Venusaur can use it towards their attempts\u00a0to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-best-mega-blastoise-counters\/\">defeat the defense-heavy\u00a0Mega Blastoise<\/a>, which is weak to Grass-types.<\/p>\n<p>Players who manage to take out Mega Venusaur and save up their Mega Energy may want to look for some friends who&#8217;ve done the same with Mega Blastoise or Charizard, too. With Mega Evolution costs running up to 200 Mega Energy, players would be wise to\u00a0take advantage of a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-mega-energy-trading-loophole\/\">recently discovered Mega Evolution trading loophole<\/a> to cheaply fill their Mega Pokedexes.
