The game has a long history of crossing over with comic book icons\u00a0like Captain America or DC Comics&#8217; Aquaman, but plenty more have also been announced or leaked in the game&#8217;s code. Today, Epic Games released a Silver Surfer bundle for players to purchase through the in-game store.<\/p>\n<p>Silver Surfer is a character who traditionally works for Galactus, the world-eating cosmic entity that looms over <em>Fortnite<\/em> Season 4, as a herald that scours the galaxy for new planets to be consumed. Though he\u00a0has not played a part\u00a0in the Marvel Cinematic Universe given its first major arc centered around <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-infinity-gauntlet-mode-trailer\/\">Thanos (who also appeared in <em>Fortnite<\/em>)<\/a>, Silver Surfer\u00a0has starred\u00a0in other film adaptations like 2007&#8217;s <em>Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-bifrost-marks-thor-locations\/\">Fortnite: Where to Visit Bifrost Marks as Thor<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>His new bundle in <em>Fortnite<\/em>\u00a0will provide players with a character skin, his\u00a0surfboard as a glider, a sleek silver pickaxe, and a backpack called the &#8220;Herald&#8217;s Star&#8221; for 2,200 V-bucks. Epic Games&#8217; marketing has not specified\u00a0whether the Silver Surfer skin has special emotes or powers similar to other <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-mystique-skin-change\/\"><em>Fortnite<\/em> Marvel skins like Mystique<\/a>, but at the very least it is fitting for the character to come with a surfboard players can use to glide\u00a0down from the battle bus.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FortniteGame\/status\/1300070774867337216?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>These Silver Surfer cosmetics were leaked ahead of time, as tends to be the case with much of the content put out by Epic Games given how popular their battle royale is. This lends credence to other leaks like a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-black-panther-map-location-skin-leak\/\">Black Panther skin coming to <em>Fortnite<\/em><\/a>, though that addition may be changed or delayed after\u00a0the recent passing of Chadwick Boseman.<\/p>\n<p>As exciting as having a huge collection of Marvel Comics content may be for some fans, there are many currently unable to access it due to the legal battle between\u00a0Apple and Epic Games over the developer&#8217;s violation of App Store guidelines. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/apple-suspends-epic-dev-account\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apple recently suspended Epic Games&#8217; developer account<\/a>, making <em>Fortnite<\/em> unavailable on iOS devices.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily for smaller game developers, this legal battle does not affect every third party that uses Epic Games&#8217; Unreal Engine.
