Emily is Away <3<\/strong><\/em> is the third game in\u00a0developer Kyle Seeley\u2019s indie throwback series<\/a>, and Seeley has just announced a delay in the game’s release.<\/p>\n

Originally planned for a August 2020 release, Seeley took to Twitter to confirm that\u00a0Emily is Away <3<\/em>, while still being worked on, would not hit that goal. However,\u00a0the developer did also take the time to announce that his next update would include a new game trailer.<\/p>\n

In his Twitter developer update, Seeley wrote that he had been looking forward to the game’s release and hoped it could be in August, but that “2020 had other plans.” While Seeley didn’t specify a reason for the delay, plenty of other projects\u00a0– both indie games and triple-A – have experienced delays<\/a> due to the environment created by COVID-19 around the world, so it’s definitely not out of the ordinary. Overall, the Twitter response to Seeley’s announcement reflects that: fans of the series are just happy the game is still in progress, and are willing to wait if it means a better game.<\/p>\n
