With every new month comes new content in\u00a0Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em>,<\/strong> and this month, a new season greets players. It’s fall, the season of red leaves and sweater weather, but in\u00a0Animal Crossing<\/em>, it means for a ton of new recipes and themed items. But to be able to craft them, first players will need to know how to get Acorns.<\/p>\n

Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is constantly updating content for players, offering them a refreshing set of craftable recipes and bugs to catch. During the summer, players got to experience the brand new NPC Pascal and trade Pearls for\u00a0Mermaid DIYs, or do a number of quests for the awashed Pirate Gulliver and get a ton of new Pirate-themed gear. But unless players are from the Southern Hemisphere or are time traveling, the season of fall is brand new for players in the northern hemisphere. And along with Mushrooms and Maple Leaves<\/a>, Acorns are required for several adorable DIY recipes.<\/p>\n

Getting Acorns is fairly simple: all players have to do is shake down some trees, but they’ll need to shake the right kinds of trees. During the fall months, Acorns can be found falling from Hardwood Trees, similar to Tree Branches and furniture. Hardwood Trees are any Oak or Cedar Tree that did not bear fruit, as those trees cannot produce\u00a0items like Wasps and bells.\u00a0Once Acorns have been acquired, a ton of recipes can be crafted, including the Tree’s Bounty Mobile and the Acorn Pochette. But before that can be done, New Horizons<\/em> players will have to get the recipes for them<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Folks from the Southern Hemisphere (and players who time trave<\/a>l) have already gotten their hands on the fall-themed ingredients; in\u00a0Animal Crossing<\/em>, their fall months last from March to May. For players in the Northern Hemisphere, however, players have from September to November to collect Acorns and Maple Leaves and craft as many recipes as possible before they disappear. But don’t worry, players can still take a swim in Animal Crossing<\/em> during fall and winter months<\/a>\u00a0since it’s required to catch all the new September Sea Creatures.<\/p>\n

When October rolls around, players can expect even more fall-themed content to release, especially for those who enjoy the spooky side of the season. With the Summer Update Wave 2, it teased the release of a free update available this fall with a picture of a Jack O’ Lantern. It’s still unclear when Halloween items and activities will come to\u00a0Animal Crossing<\/em>; the update could release at the beginning of October, or simply on the 31st.<\/p>\n
