Despite launching all the way back in 2016, it remains a popular game, in large part thanks to Behaviour Interactive&#8217;s frequent updates that add new killers, maps, and more. Now <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/bethesda-westworld-lawsuit-behaviour-settle\/\">Behaviour Interactive<\/a> has confirmed that\u00a0<em>Dead by Daylight<\/em> support will be continuing for the foreseeable future, as it is bringing the game to next-generation consoles later this year.<\/p>\n<p>As announced by Behaviour Interactive,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/dead-by-daylight\/\"><em>Dead by Daylight<\/em><\/a> will launch this holiday season for next-generation consoles, and while specific platforms weren&#8217;t mentioned, it can be assumed that the studio is referencing the PS5 and Xbox Series X. The next-gen version of\u00a0<em>Dead by Daylight<\/em> will be available for free to anyone that has the current-gen version of the game, with the next-gen version boasting 4K graphics and 60 frames per second, along with a massive graphical update that&#8217;s coming to\u00a0<em>all<\/em> versions of the main game.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-by-daylight-blight-perks-add-ons\/\">Dead by Daylight: All Perks and Add-Ons for The Blight<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Dead by Daylight<\/em> graphical update, called The Realm Beyond, is coming to all platforms and will be released for free. Behaviour is hoping to &#8220;improve the immersion tenfold&#8221; with the graphical update by making the environments &#8220;as realistic as a scary, disturbing nightmare.&#8221; This will be accomplished by improving the lighting, effects, modeling, textures, and animations, as well as expanding maps to include more items. This graphical update will be rolled out every six weeks starting September 8, so\u00a0the visual improvements will happen over time as opposed to all at once.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IS0zfiH4faM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Behaviour has also confirmed that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-by-daylight-console-cross-progression-crossplay-update\/\"><em>Dead by Daylight<\/em> cross-progression<\/a> will now include the Stadia, Steam, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/dead-by-daylight-nintendo-switch-review\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Switch versions<\/a> of the game as well. All players have to do to retain their progress across all platforms is sign up for a BHVR account.<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, Behaviour Interactive has big plans for\u00a0<em>Dead by Daylight<\/em>, and it will definitely be exciting to see the visual improvements in action, especially on next-generation consoles. And one has to imagine that with the studio spending so much time improving the game that there are plenty more content updates planned as well, though what those may entail remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<p><em>Dead by Daylight<\/em> has added some of the horror genre&#8217;s most iconic villains, including the likes of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-by-daylight-michael-myers-halloween\/\"><em>Halloween<\/em>&#8216;s Michael Myers<\/a> and\u00a0<em>A Nightmare on Elm Street<\/em>&#8216;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/freddy-krueger-dead-by-daylight-perk\/\">Freddy Krueger<\/a>. There are many more horror movie and video game villains that could potentially make the cut down the line, but they have yet to be announced at the time of this writing.
