Over the past\u00a030 years, the series has received\u00a016 core games, spin offs such as\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem Warriors<\/em>, and even a Japan-exclusive trading card game,\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem Cipher.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fire-emblem-series-parents-best\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Top 10 Best Parents In Fire Emblem History<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While there may be a plethora of\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>games each with their own appeal, many are not the most accessible to play for newcomers, with six core entries in the series having never been released outside of Japan. Luckily,\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>is a series that is not shy\u00a0about remaking their games, such as\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valientia<\/em>. So today, we&#8217;re going to examine the five\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>games most deserving of a remake, and five that don&#8217;t need a new coat of paint.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Don&#8217;t Remake: Fates<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/fates.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sword-wielders-fire-emblem\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Emblem Fates<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is a unique entry in the\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>franchise, being broken up into three separate routes in the form of\u00a0<em>Birthright, Conquest<\/em>,\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Revelation.\u00a0<\/em>While numerous entries in the series featured this approach, the various incarnations of <em>Fates\u00a0<\/em>were marketed and sold as separate games, something many players were critical of.<\/p>\n<p>If\u00a0<em>Fates\u00a0<\/em>were to be remade in any capacity, this hypothetical remake would ideally feature each route from the word go similarly to\u00a0<em>Three Houses.\u00a0<\/em>However, as\u00a0<em>Fates <\/em>was<em>\u00a0<\/em>released a mere five years ago and is still easily accessible, a remake at this stage would be unnecessary.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>Remake: Mystery Of The Emblem<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/mystery-of-the-emblem.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Released in 1994 for the\u00a0Super Nintendo,\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem\u00a0<\/em>was a direct sequel to the first entry of the series. <em>Mystery of the Emblem<\/em> uniquely featured a remake of <em>Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light<\/em> and that game&#8217;s sequel within a single experience. Despite this,\u00a0<em>Mystery of the Emblem<\/em>&#8216;s Japan-exclusive\u00a0remake\u00a0only contained the latter half of\u00a0the game rather than the entire two-part experience.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fire-emblem-worst-playable-characters\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Top Ten Worst People Playable In Fire Emblem History<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0<em>Mystery of the Emblem<\/em>&#8216;s original remake\u00a0was not released outside of Japan, perhaps an updated version could be developed that featured both\u00a0<em>Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Mystery of the Emblem<\/em>&#8216;s stories simultaneously.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>Don&#8217;t Remake: Shadow Dragon<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/fe-shadow-dragon.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/10-integral-units-use-fire-emblem-shadow-dragon\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is a DS remake of\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light.\u00a0<\/em>While the first entry of the series paved the way for numerous elements of\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>and is one of the most iconic entries in the series, the prospects of a\u00a0<em>Mystery of the Emblem\u00a0<\/em>remake completely invalidate a return to\u00a0<em>Shadow Dragon.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As previously mentioned, a proper and faithful remake of\u00a0<em>Mystery of the Emblem\u00a0<\/em>would already include the entirety of\u00a0<em>Shadow Dragon,\u00a0<\/em>much like it was in its original incarnation for the SNES.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>Remake: Path Of Radiance<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/fe-path-of-radiance.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The only\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>game to be released for the Gamecube,\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance\u00a0<\/em>is an incredible and unique experience that spiced up the<em>\u00a0<\/em>traditional\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>formula through the introduction of widely usable transforming units called Laguz. Touting a stellar story, characters, and gameplay, <em>Path of Radiance\u00a0<\/em>is one of the hardest <em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>games to come by, with used copies being sparse and expensive.<\/p>\n<p>A remake of\u00a0<em>Path of Radiance\u00a0<\/em>would allow newer fans to the series to experience one of the strongest entries in the series, and it could even pave the way for a remake of\u00a0the game&#8217;s sequel,\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>Don&#8217;t Remake: Awakening<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/awakening.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Fire Emblem: Awakening\u00a0<\/em>is widely regarded as a game that single-handedly revived the\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>series when it was on the brink of collapse.\u00a0<em>Awakening\u00a0<\/em>brought a great deal to the table such as its expanded support system and is responsible for bringing many new players to the series.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fire-emblem-characters-should-been-recruitable\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Emblem: 10 Characters Who Should&#8217;ve Been Recruitable<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>However, like\u00a0<em>Fates<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Awakening\u00a0<\/em>is still quite fresh in many players&#8217; memories. As getting one&#8217;s hands on a copy of\u00a0<em>Awakening\u00a0<\/em>is still a very easy feat, and it&#8217;s a very polished experience, an\u00a0<em>Awakening\u00a0<\/em>remake should be far from a priority.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Remake: The Binding Blade<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/the-binding-blade.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/worst-units-fire-emblem-blazing-blade\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>originally branded in the west as simply\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem<\/em>,\u00a0was the first\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>game to be released outside of Japan.\u00a0<em>The Blazing Blade\u00a0<\/em>is in actuality the prequel to the sixth game in the series,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/worst-units-fire-emblem-binding-blade\/\"><em>Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade<\/em><\/a>. To this day, <em>The Binding Blade<\/em>\u00a0has never been officially released outside of Japan.<\/p>\n<p>As\u00a0<em>The Binding<\/em> <em>Blade<\/em>&#8216;s<i>\u00a0<\/i>protagonist is Roy, a character made popular my the\u00a0<em>Super Smash Bros.\u00a0<\/em>franchise, a remake of\u00a0<em>The\u00a0<\/em><em>Binding Blade\u00a0<\/em>could potentially cater to both\u00a0<em>Smash\u00a0<\/em>fans and\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>fans alike.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>Don&#8217;t Remake: Gaiden<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/fe-gaiden.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Released in Japan in 1992,\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem Gaiden\u00a0<\/em>is a distinct entry in the series, being the first\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>game to feature a traversable overworld and branching promotion trees.<\/p>\n<p>However, the reason we don&#8217;t need a\u00a0<em>Gaiden\u00a0<\/em>remake is quite straightforward: one was just released three years ago in the greatly polished\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia\u00a0<\/em>for the 3DS.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>Remake: Genealogy Of The Holy War<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Fire-Emblem-Genealogy-Of-The-Holy-War-Super-Famicom.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>When it comes to\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>remakes, one can&#8217;t help but bring up\u00a0<em>Genealogy of the Holy War.\u00a0<\/em>Released in Japan in 1996 for the SNES, this game was ported to the Wii&#8217;s virtual console in 2007 but has never been officially playable outside of Japan. This is truly a shame, as\u00a0<em>Genealogy\u00a0<\/em>is often regarded as one of the most impressive and influential entries in the series, being hindered by a lack of accessibility for players.<\/p>\n<p>Now seems as good a time as ever for a remake of\u00a0<em>Genealogy of the Holy War\u00a0<\/em>to be released, as like the popular\u00a0<em>Three Houses<\/em>, the game features a noteworthy time-skip.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">2 <\/span>Don&#8217;t Remake: Three Houses<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/three-houses-monastery.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>If there&#8217;s one\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>game that does not need a remake of any sort, it&#8217;s\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fire-emblem-three-houses-worst-units\/\">Fire Emblem: Three Houses<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>Released only just over a year ago,\u00a0<em>Three Houses\u00a0<\/em>is the most recent\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem\u00a0<\/em>game available and is still quite fresh in many fans&#8217; minds.<\/p>\n<p>Even the prospects of an expanded version of the game at this point would be beyond gratuitous for fans wanting to see the series progress.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">1 <\/span>Remake: Thracia 776<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/thracia-776.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Like\u00a0<em>Genealogy of the Holy War,\u00a0<\/em><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hardest-fire-emblem-games-ranked\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Thracia 776<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>has never been officially released outside of Japan, and is regarded as one of the most inaccessible games for players to experience.
