One of the breakout stars of Guardians of the Galaxy 2<\/em> was Baby Groot, the adorable tiny tree creature with attitude. Venom is one of Spider-Man’s most famous and fearsome enemies, finally breaking out in his own movie in 2018’s Venom<\/em><\/a>. Now, fans can see what happens when someone puts these two characters together.<\/p>\n

Hot Toys has done exactly that with the release of its upcoming Venomized Groot figurine. The figure stands at 25cm or 9.8 inches, which is accurate with the life-size standing of Baby Groot. There are also multiple interchangeable pieces that depict Baby Groot<\/a> in various stages of being taken over by the symbiote. Some of the coolest parts include Groot’s fingers changed into claws and attachable venus fly traps.<\/p>\n

The figure is inspired by the animated series Spider-Man: Maximum Venom<\/em>, in which Venom plans a symbiote invasion<\/a> to take over everyone on Earth.\u00a0\u00a0The figurine was revealed at Hot Toys Summer Showcase earlier this year and is available for pre-order now with a release date set for late 2021-early 2022.<\/p>\n

Fans will have to wait a bit longer for Baby Groot or Venom to appear on screen again. Guardians of the Galaxy 3<\/em> is confirmed to be in the works but will be a while longer thanks to Director James Gunn being focused on the upcoming The Suicide Squad<\/em>. Venom: Let There Be Carnage<\/em> is also in development<\/a> but has been pushed back to 2021 thanks to the pandemic. Whether the two characters will crossover on-screen is\u00a0unlikely thanks to rivaling studio rights, but this Venomized Groot gives a good idea of\u00a0what the results could be.<\/p>\n
