Founded by Rami Ismail and Willam Nijman, the company has made a long line of beloved titles like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/b\/news\/archive\/2013\/03\/15\/ridiculous-fishing-impressions-insanity-beneath-the-sea.aspx\" >Ridiculous Fishing<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gameinformer.com\/games\/nuclear_throne\/b\/playstation4\/archive\/2015\/12\/16\/fast-fun-and-frustrating.aspx\" >Nuclear Throne<\/a>. While most development studios close for financial reasons, Ismail and Nijman have chosen to end the company of their own volition.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Today marks Vlambeer\u2019s 10th anniversary, which is way longer than we could&#39;ve ever imagined. We had a beautiful run, made incredible games, and worked with amazing people, but it is time for new things. So we&#39;re announcing the end of Vlambeer. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jZ4dMGxNV2\">pic.twitter.com\/jZ4dMGxNV2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Vlambeer (@Vlambeer) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Vlambeer\/status\/1300840760296837120?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 1, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/kotaku.com\/vlambeer-is-closing-down-1844900096\" >Kotaku<\/a>, Ismail detailed\u00a0that the decision to close was ultimately about moving on to newer and greater\u00a0ventures, &#8220;Maybe because of that growth it has become really clear that what the two of us want to do with our lives is just different.&#8221; Ismail says. &#8220;After Nuclear Throne, it\u00a0felt a bit like we had proven everything Vlambeer had to prove, and after a well-earned break, after such a demanding project we realized that we had both found our own separate ways forward.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite closing suddenly, Vlambeer has left a lasting impact\u00a0on the ever-growing indie-game community.
