Bungie has been giving\u00a0Destiny 2<\/strong><\/em> fans a ton of new information about the upcoming expansion\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em> in the last few weeks, both through its blog and through the much-anticipated in-depth Stasis trailer at Gamescom<\/a> ONL. This week, fans can get some information about major changes coming to\u00a0Triumphs and Titles.<\/p>\n

This is an exciting time for Destiny 2<\/a><\/em> players, and staying caught up on all the new changes coming can help people at the top of their game. The free limited event Solstice of Heroes<\/a> is well underway and almost over, so while players grapple with new items and armor they\u00a0can also keep an eye on Bungie’s plans for Triumphs and Titles,\u00a0both being ways for\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em> players to track in-game progress and achievements.<\/p>\n

Bungie detailed the items leaving to the Destiny Content Vault<\/a> (DCV) a few weeks ago, when it pointed out that players should start wrapping up Triumphs linked to content that will leave when\u00a0Beyond Light\u00a0<\/em>launches. However, at the time, Bungie didn’t explicitly tell players what would happen to Titles linked to disappearing content. The devs do explicitly state their goals, which are to\u00a0“provide pursuits for all players,” give Triumphs a score, and let all players show off their in-game accomplishments, all of which Bungie wants to accomplish by rehauling the systems.<\/p>\n

The devs went through every Triumph to see if it matches these goals, and also added in a Career Score that tracks everything a player has done in-game, an Active Score for things available in the “live game,” and created a smaller set of generic Triumphs. Nixed Triumphs will be represented as Legacy Triumphs, and the rest will be structured around Seasons and destinations, like the Triumphs for this year centering around Europa coming to Destiny 2<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Players should note that\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em> Season 12<\/a> Triumphs will all have a score, be rewarded with Seasonal currency, and move to Legacy Triumphs and contribute to the Career Score (but not the Active Score) when the season ends. The Lifetime set of Triumphs is a new way to introduce new players to\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em>, and will let players browse Seals as well. Players should keep in mind that the new DCV contributions will make some Seals and Titles unobtainable, and only viewable as Legacy.<\/p>\n

For this year, Bungie promises players can still equip the Titles they earn “going forward,” and for players that are confused by exactly how this will all work, there will be a demonstration set for Leviathan.\u00a0While they wait for Beyond Light<\/em> to drop, players can continue progressing through Destiny 2<\/em>‘s Season of Arrivals<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Destiny 2: Beyond Light<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is available on November 10 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n
