Rumors have been swirling for some time that Ubisoft has a\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/strong><\/em> remake in the works. These rumors heated up significantly when retail listings for the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake<\/a> started appearing online, lending them significantly more credibility. And now a well-known industry insider has made the claim that the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake will be announced at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event on September 10.<\/p>\n

According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, speaking on the Triple Click podcast, Ubisoft plans to reveal the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>remake at Ubisoft Forward on September 10. “They had been planning a new Ubisoft Forward, where they were going to announce a bunch of games like the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake that was leaked a couple of weeks ago. That is planned, it was announced today as being for next week, September 10th.”<\/p>\n

If the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake retail leaks are to be believed, the game is set to launch this coming November for PS4 and Switch. However, with\u00a0Ubisoft’s own\u00a0Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/em> also releasing in November, that release date seems unlikely. But if Schreier is correct about the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake being at Ubisoft Forward<\/a> on September 10, then fans don’t have to wait much longer to find out.<\/p>\n

Now, it remains to be seen exactly which\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> game the remake will be based on. The\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> franchise started in the 1980s, so it could very well be a remake of the original 1989 release. However, a more likely scenario is that the game is a\u00a0Sands of Time<\/em> remake<\/a>, as it’s safe to say modern gamers are far more familiar with it than the 1989 original.<\/p>\n

Previously, some rumors have gone as far as to claim that Ubisoft is going to release a\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake trilogy, which will include\u00a0Sands of Time<\/em>,\u00a0Warrior Within<\/em>, and\u00a0The Two Thrones<\/em>. Other rumors still have pointed to a completely brand new\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> game<\/a> instead of a remake, but until the announcement is made, all fans can do is speculate.<\/p>\n

Assuming the rumors are true, then the\u00a0Prince of Persia<\/em> remake announcement will likely be the biggest reveal at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward. However, it’s not the only game that the company plans to showcase. Ubisoft recently released a trailer teasing some of the other games that fans can expect from the Ubisoft Forward event, including titles like\u00a0Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em><\/a> and\u00a0Watch Dogs Legion<\/em>. To see everything Ubisoft has on its slate, fans will just need to tune in to the Ubisoft Forward event on Thursday, September 10 at 12pm PT.<\/p>\n

Prince of Persia<\/strong><\/em> is rumored to be in development for unspecified platforms.<\/p>\n
