When the release date of Crusader Kings 3<\/em> was announced, it was met with delight by fans. 8 years after the previous game in the series, it was easily time for a sequel, and\u00a0Crusader Kings 3<\/em><\/strong> seems to have delivered, judging by reviews.<\/p>\n

Paradox creates and maintains a lot of diverse strategy games, so the gameplay\u00a0Crusader Kings 3<\/em><\/a> brings to the table is easily distinguished from the rest of its library. Players take on the roles of medieval kings attempting to expand and stabilize their kingdoms as best they can. There is a lot to play within the base game, but that is not nearly enough for many players.\u00a0Crusader Kings 2<\/em> had a lot of mods, and it looks like\u00a0Crusader Kings 3<\/em> is carrying on the tradition. Here are some of the best mods created by players so far.<\/p>\n

Named after DLC for\u00a0Crusader Kings 2<\/em>, the Sunset Invasion mod adds Native American kingdoms to interact with, as well as a morality aspect to those interactions. Players can gain or lose Amity or Respect from the kingdoms across the sea through their actions, and there are new resources, cultures, and religions to discover. The religion and culture systems of Crusader Kings 3<\/em><\/a> are already pretty robust, and ripe for more to be added. The mod is not considered finished by its creator, but is playable from the Steam workshop.<\/p>\n

There are many cheat commands for Crusader Kings 3<\/em><\/a>, which can affect all stats in the game. However, it can be annoying to manually shift the stats through cheat commands. Daddy Pika’s Cheat Menu makes using them much easier and simpler for players. Opening the menu allows players to adjust anything in the game they wish. This amount of control is great when testing the game’s limits in certain respects, or trying to find hidden or rare interactions.<\/p>\n

While it has been confirmed that Crusader Kings 3<\/em> will not rehash old DLC<\/a> like Sunset Invasion, the same definitely does not hold true for its mods. Princes of Darkness is one of the most popular\u00a0Crusader Kings 2<\/em> mods that has transitioned fully to\u00a0Crusader Kings 3<\/em>. Based on the vampire mythos set up in stories like\u00a0Vampire: The Masquerade<\/em>, it lets players become Vampire Kings and rule using magic and supernatural powers. Fans of the\u00a0Vampire factions in\u00a0Total War: Warhammer<\/em> may want to give this one a try.<\/p>\n

Another old\u00a0Crusader Kings 2<\/em> mod with a fresh coat of paint, this one changes the entire game by setting it in, well, the Bronze Age. Different issues and ruler concerns await, as well as a radically different map. Playing a Bronze Age ruler is a different experience, and a much earlier era to twist history from.<\/p>\n

This mod is exactly what it says on the tin: brighter portraits for characters. Now the traits of Crusader Kings 3<\/em><\/a>‘s kings can shine through much more clearly.<\/p>\n
