The prestige system that so many fans love is not coming to the newest Call of Duty<\/em>, according to an insider source.<\/p>\n

Fans are seeing a lot of changes to the franchise announced for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/a><\/em>, but while some leaks are talking about exciting potential features like Call of Duty<\/em> multiplayer updates<\/a>, this particular leak is a big disappointment to those who love grinding the game with help from Treyarch’s prestige system, which Infinity Ward chose to completely change in\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em>.<\/p>\n

TheMW2Ghost, a\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> insider, stated that Treyarch is looking to take after Infinity Ward and go forward with\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em> nixing the prestige system. The leaker’s Twitter account posted that prestige is “likely not returning” as most of the\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> devs<\/a> are actually favoring the Season Rank system players can see in\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em>. The account claims this info comes from a “main source” who’s provided other details that proved to be true in the past.<\/p>\n
