Arguably one of the best PS4 exclusive open-world games, Ghost of Tsushima<\/em><\/a> has quickly become known for its epic boss battles. With a long list of katana-wielding samurai to slice through, Tsushima<\/em> offers some of the most fascinating battles that have fantastically closed the book on\u00a0this generation of the PlayStation<\/a>. The boss battles in Tsushima<\/em> are theatrical, stylish, and colorful, but there is a major inconsistency in their strengths and powers.<\/p>\n

The bosses of Tsushima<\/em> can be as easy to defeat as button mashing the DualShock for 30 seconds or as hard as having to rigorously\u00a0pin down even the slightest of their movements. Some are\u00a0lightning quick with countless unblockable attacks, where others fall at the mere sight of Jin\u2019s sword.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Weakest: Tengu Demon<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

As theatrical as the battle may look with the circling of bats making it seem like the mouth of hell, and Jin being totally blood-soaked at this point in the game, there is little to worry about and the bats are nothing more than Tengu Demon peacocking.<\/p>\n

Being covered in blood may seem like Jin is taking damage, but it\u2019s just an illusion. Though keeping a safe distance in battles is usually one of the best tips<\/a> for the game, giving Tengu space\u00a0leads to a much more\u00a0even playing field. By keeping close to Tengu and firing combos at him, this fight is a cake-walk.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Most Powerful: Lady Masako<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Though Lady Masako is old, she shows no signs of aging as she is lightning fast, flexible, and her combos are painstakingly Impressive. Defeating her proves difficult as she zig-zags around and learning her movements can become headache-inducing.<\/p>\n

To win the battle, it is essential to watch\u00a0the\u00a0tiniest movements of Lady Masako’s sword to know when to parry. It\u2019s unlikely that this boss fight will be won on the first try or even the second, but it\u2019s one of the most satisfying accomplishments of the game.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Weakest: Kaede<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

After Kaede believes Jin has stolen armor, a fight ensues but one that shows Kaede has very little control. This battle is one of the easiest in the game despite her having some powerful\u00a0attacks.<\/p>\n

Managing to avoid these attacks means that Kaede is left exposed to attacks just as volatile as her own. Adding stance combos will finish her quickly, which is something that new players often forget about.<\/a>\u00a0Even without those stances, Kaede is still fairly easy to take down even on hard mode, just be careful to avoid those wide swings and lunges.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Most Powerful: Ryuzo<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Though duels are one of the best things about Tsushima<\/i><\/a>, in the first battle with Ryuzo his fighting style was predictable, but his combos chained together well, sometimes making the fight\u00a0frustratingly difficult. The second fight isn\u2019t much different as his fighting style remains mostly the same, but this time Ryuzo has gotten a lot faster. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Muscle memory of parrying and doffing\u00a0from the first fight might help the player a little bit, but it\u2019ll have to be a lot quicker this time. This battle is more dodging than attacking, but Ryuzo has some giveaways that let the player know when he\u2019s going to do an attack that can be parried, such as putting his hand on his blade, but it requires a super quick reaction time.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Weakest:\u00a0Yasuhira Koga<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Yasuhira has very quick attacks that are unblockable, but he uses them infrequently and they aren\u2019t half as powerful as they look. As long as\u00a0the player absorbs his attacks and fires back with even more powerful blows, Yasuhira will be in tiny fleshy\u00a0pieces on the floor within minutes. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As Yasuhira is one of the earliest bosses in the game and is the first boss to grant the player the Heavenly Strike, it\u2019s advisable to take him on earlier rather than later. It will give Jin a\u00a0one-up on future boss battles.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Most Powerful:\u00a0Bettomaru<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Bettomaru isn\u2019t the first boss the player encounters with a flaming sword, as General Temuga\u00a0preceded him; however, Battomaru requires much more skill. This battle is a game of patience more than anything, as it\u2019s only worth attacking when his sword isn\u2019t alight, which requires waiting quite some time. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It might be tempting to take on the torched katana, and it is possible, but it\u2019s not worth trying to be a hero as it\u2019s more likely going to end in death than reward.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Weakest: Warlord Harunori<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

All of the bosses in this section of the game range from weak\u00a0to offensively\u00a0incompetent.\u00a0Jin\u00a0battles four warlords, Dogar, Harunori, Bartu, and Dogshin, all of whom have fighting patterns that are incredibly easy to read, but Warlord Harunori might just be the easiest of them all.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

As the player can fire out combos and break Harunori\u2019s guard without even trying, and though there are some amazing upgrades<\/a> in the game,\u00a0he\u2019s possible to defeat without even having any\u00a0upgrades to Jin\u2019s\u00a0inventory. Harunori has the simplest fighting pattern in the game. After rolling away from his\u00a0red attack, breaking his stagger, and then pouncing on him with everything Jin\u2019s got, the player will be standing over Harunori\u2019s Sliced up remains in no time.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Most Powerful: Khotun Khan<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Khan is arguably the smartest boss in Ghost of Tsushima<\/i>, and it shows in the second battle with him, the penultimate boss fight of the game. He has three unblockable attacks with his spear, and he is surprisingly quick for such a stocky guy. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

This fight isn\u2019t just hard because of his attacks, but once Jin\u2019s\u00a0fought Khan for long enough, a small army will\u00a0completely unload on the player. Once his minions have been defeated, Khan is ready to fight once again. Though the difficulty of Tsushima<\/i> is one of the biggest fixes the game needs<\/a>, finally defeating Khan is one of the most satisfying moments of the game.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Weakest: Altan<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Though he looks tough and intimidating with his golden armor, there is no other boss battle in Ghost of Tsushima<\/i> that requires such little skill to defeat than Altan. Despite being\u00a0the final boss in Yuma\u2019s side quest, Altan only has three attacks and two moves.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It is by far the easiest battle in the entire game as winning the fight will clock in at less than two minutes even on the hardest game mode. Considering that Altan is the climax of so much torture and destruction after having burned a ship to the ground and beheaded several slavers, a much tougher duel was to be expected.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Most Powerful: Lord Shimura<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

After 20+ boss battles, Jin is left with one more man to murder (or spare). Nevertheless, the battle is suitably the toughest of the game and requires the player to implement everything they\u2019ve learned up to this point. Shimura has an Arsenal of unblockable attacks and blue attacks that are possible to parry, but it\u2019s hardly worth it as it\u2018ll end in Jin\u2019s bloodshed. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Defeating him is one of the hardest trophies to earn<\/a> in Tsushima<\/i>, but Shimura does have a bunch of katana stabs that he uses in between red and blue attacks which are much easier to parry. If the player sticks to those, it will be easier to defeat the undignified\u00a0uncle, and slice him up or even spare him, making him live the rest of his dishonorable life. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
