While it garnered a positive critical reception at launch, a change to EA’s\u00a0UFC 4\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>has upset many fans, some of whom have taken to online message boards to vent their frustration. The change in question is real-world advertisements, which have been added to\u00a0UFC 4’s\u00a0<\/em>matches<\/a> in-game, and led to numerous complaints.<\/p>\n

Over on the\u00a0UFC 4\u00a0<\/em>Reddit page, fans have shared ads for\u00a0Amazon’s\u00a0<\/em>series\u00a0The Boys<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>popping up in the middle of their matches. These mostly come in the form of large banners taking up the screen during transitions, though smaller banners appear near the round timer while playing too, occasionally multiple times in a brief window. So far, the reaction to the change has been very negative.<\/p>\n

Fans are specifically pointing out the timing of the change, accusing EA of waiting until the reviews landed to avoid being dragged by critics. One post directly attacking the change has been upvoted nearly 90,000 times on the Subreddit, garnering thousands of individual comments from upset players. Another point of contention is\u00a0UFC<\/em>\u00a04’s\u00a0status\u00a0<\/em>as a full-priced game, which has added more fuel to the fire.<\/p>\n
