The Playstation 4 console has provided the gaming community some of the best games<\/a> anyone has ever played. The level of attention these games were given by the team responsible for them is nothing short of intricate. In turn, Playstation players had the privilege of playing games that are filled with compelling stories, fun gameplay, high replay value, and stunning visuals.\u00a0Players just can’t get enough of these games and many are already craving for a sequel<\/a> even right after the credits roll.<\/p>\n

With the next generation of consoles just lurking around the corner and with new games<\/a> being developed left and right, it’s understandable that fans are clamoring for a follow up on their favorite PS4 exclusives.\u00a0Unfortunately, not every successful game from Sony’s arsenal is going to get a sequel. Or at least, it’s not likely for some of them.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Likely: Ghost of Tsushima<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Ghost of Tsushima<\/em><\/a> is the latest masterpiece to belong to Sony’s line up. The game was developed by Sucker Punch and it tells the tale of Jin Sakai, a samurai warrior with a code to uphold but is faced with a tough decision to bend his honor to save the land he loves.<\/p>\n

The game received positive responses from critics and fans alike. The gameplay, the story, the atmosphere, and so many other aspects of the game were welcomed with open arms. The game’s commercial success can very much mean both Sony and Sucker Punch will not be letting go of this IP anytime soon. Besides, there’s still another Khan the Ghost of Tsushima has yet to face.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Unlikely: The Last Guardian<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The Last Guardian<\/em> is considered to be the spiritual successor of Ico<\/em> and Shadow of the Colossus<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0Team ICO, the team behind these 3 games, are masters of crafting games many will consider as artworks. The Last Guardian<\/em> is a fantastic game with emotional beats, and although it has gameplay issues, many will give this game a positive note at the end of the day.<\/p>\n

While many may clamor for a continuation of this title, it seems that the team behind the game does not share that sentiment. Fumito Ueda, the game’s creator, isn’t exactly keen on making sequels for his titles. It’s hard to assume why he’d change this view on The Last Guardian<\/em>.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Likely: Days Gone<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Days Gone<\/em><\/a> is an incredible mixture of open-world, horror, survival, and action shooter<\/a>. Although fans and critics alike are divided on their opinions of this game, it was still pretty much a commercial success in the end.<\/p>\n

With this in mind, it will not come as a surprise to many if ever Sony and SIE Bend Studio, the developer behind Days Gone<\/em>, will announce a sequel some time in the future. The game’s creator even went as far as to announce that he’s most likely not done with the game, so Days Gone<\/em> fans should have something to look forward to.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Unlikely: Until Dawn<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Until Dawn<\/em><\/a> is one of those horror games<\/a> players can really get into, mainly due to its compelling story and choice-driven gameplay. Fans of the horror genre especially appreciate how the game took some of the genre’s most cliche tropes and ran away with it to craft something masterful.<\/p>\n

And while the game did get followed up by a spin-off and a prequel on PlayStation VR in 2016 and 2018, the possibility of a direct continuation of this game seems highly unlikely at this point. Supermassive, the developer behind Until Dawn, has also stated in the past that they’ve indeed heard the calls of fans of an Until Dawn sequel, but they’re currently leaning more towards directing their creativity on the Dark Pictures Anthology<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Likely: Spider-Man<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Marvel’s Spider-Man<\/em><\/a> came out in 2018 to a universally agreed praise. Whether someone is a Spider-Man for or not, they will surely appreciate this game not for what it is but for what it puts forth. This game is by far one of the best comic-book video games of all time and its one of the best portrayals of the titular character in any media.<\/p>\n

Aside from its loyalty to its source material, players also highly enjoyed its addictive gameplay and fantastic narrative. Judging on how the game ended, it only makes sense from a narrative point of view to move this story further. A stand-alone, small-scale spin-off of Spider-Man is already slated to release alongside the PS5 in the form of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but fans can surely expect Peter Parker to return with his very own sequel sometime in the future.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Unlikely: Infamous Second Son<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Infamous: Second Son<\/em><\/a> was among the earliest games to ever come out for the PS4. While the reception for the game wasn’t as positive as other PS4 exclusive titles, it was still praised for its pleasing visuals, fun gameplay, and integration of the console’s upgraded capabilities.<\/p>\n

Ever since its release in 2014, Sucker Punch hasn’t really addressed\u00a0Second Son\u00a0<\/em>nor has there been news of a sequel. The studio recently just finished working on\u00a0Ghost of Tsushima<\/em>, and if there’s one title they’re more likely to pay more attention to in the months and years to come, it’s their latest title.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Likely: The Last of Us Part II<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

There’s no more divisive video-game community than that of The Last of Us<\/em><\/a> franchise. While the first game was received with critical acclaim, the second one tore the fanbase apart. One sector loved the game, the other hated it with a passion.<\/p>\n

Whatever the case, it’s fair to argue that the franchise’s story is far from over. The Last of Us II<\/em> had storylines that still needs to be completed, and players were presented with story elements that seem like set-ups for a future title. Fans will most likely still see more of Ellie, and perhaps, Abby<\/a>, in a future outing.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Unlikely: Uncharted 4<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Uncharted 4<\/em> <\/a>was the perfect conclusion to Nathan Drake’s story. It was wrapped up perfectly and it completely gives the main character justice. To pull him out from where he is now just to give him one more adventure will seem like a disservice to the character and the franchise as a whole.<\/p>\n

While a direct sequel for Uncharted 4<\/em> is already unlikely at this point, perhaps Naughty Dog can explore spin-offs of the franchise. We already got one with Lost Legacy<\/em> and it was also received well by fans.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Likely: God of War<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

God of War<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>is hands-down one of the best titles to ever come out on this generation. It is also one of Sony’s most recognizable franchises. From a business standpoint, it’s a win. God of War<\/em> was a commercial success and it’s not unlikely for Sony to cash in on this opportunity. From a narrative standpoint, it also makes sense.\u00a0God of War\u00a0<\/em>still has more to offer in terms of story. The game’s ending even points towards a sequel.<\/p>\n

Whatever the case, everyone who has played this game is more than excited for a sequel to come out. Perhaps, it will be announced soon. The fans of the game will just have to wait and see.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Unlikely: Bloodborne<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

When\u00a0Bloodborne<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>came out in 2015, the developers behind it, FromSoft, was already a herculean figure in the gaming community. Their previous titles are some of the most beloved games in history. This game just strengthened their already impeccable track record. It had FromSoft’s signature all over it. It was difficult<\/a>, compelling, addictive, and it had just enough individuality to be its own IP.<\/p>\n

Sadly, it’s highly unlikely for a sequel of\u00a0Bloodborne\u00a0<\/em>to come out. The reason the game was created in the first place was Sony actively asked FromSoft to do Souls game that’s exclusive to the PS4. Hidetaka Miyazaki, the man behind\u00a0Bloodborne<\/em>,<\/span> has mentioned that though he loves the game dearly, this decision rests solely on Sony’s hands.\u00a0Since then, Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team over at FromSoft have been busy working on a new title.<\/p>\n
