Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>was already a unique experience during it’s earliest days\u00a0back in July of 2017 for a multitude of reasons.\u00a0Fortnite<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>put the classic battle-royale mode back in the forefront of gaming, as we have seen many different games try their hand at this formula<\/a> since\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>did it years ago. Something that has helped the game stay so fresh is the implementation of seasons, which is an exclusive time period in the game that allows players to unlock items in a battle-pass, play different\u00a0kinds of limited-time modes, and new map changes that can really affect how games are played.<\/p>\n

Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>has seen 14 different seasons come and ago which now almost makes the game look unrecognizable from the game’s earliest seasons. In this article, we will be taking the 10 best Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>seasons and ranking them from worst to best.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Season 12<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Season 12 can also be referred to as Chapter 2: Season 2 because of\u00a0Fortnite<\/em>\u00a0resetting the seasons with a new chapter last October. It does mark the 12th new season in the game however, and while it wasn’t one of the best new updates we have gotten, it was pretty fun to play nonetheless. A spy themed battle-pass introduced players to some great new points of interests that instantly became fan favorites due to the awesome loot they had. Having Deadpool as a secret skin<\/a>\u00a0was also fantastic and just adds to the list of incredible crossovers\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>has had with other big name franchises.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Season 9<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Season 9 of\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>definitely had it’s ups and downs, yet Epic Games should be praised for the ambitions changes they added throughout the season. Neo-Tilted was the new hot-drop spot<\/a> full of futuristic skyscrapers and whirlwinds of air that could move your player quickly across the city.\u00a0Replacing the pump shotgun with the combat shotgun was a controversial decision at the time, before players realized the combat was actually a very effective weapon.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Season 6<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Things got a little bit spookier in\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>with the release of Season 6. This season was around Halloween as well,\u00a0so developers made the map feel much darker than what we were used to getting in the game, which was a welcomed surprise. This season added zombies to the battle-royale, which at first felt like a fun addition,\u00a0yet it was soon realized that the zombies were completely ruining end game situations.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Season 7<\/h2>\n

The winter themed Season 7 of\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>did a lot of great things to help move the game forward in a time in which some believed the game was getting stale. The additions of planes completely changed the way players got around the map, making games feel a bit faster with traversal being so quick and easy. The wintery areas were a first as well for the game and the battle-pass included some great skins, including the upgradable Lynx which became a fan-favorite.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Season 5<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Even though a lot of gamers were disappointed with the battle-pass skins at first-glance, the map updates and new weapon introductions made Season 5 a blast to play in\u00a0Fortnite.\u00a0<\/em>The theme of the battle-pass was rifts in time and space, which allowed Epic Games to create areas such as Viking mountain.<\/p>\n

Weapons and items such as the rift-to-go, heavy-sniper, double-barrel shotgun, and so many more made this a season that all players could enjoy.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Season 1<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While most of\u00a0Fortnite’s\u00a0<\/em>player-base never experienced the earliest days of the game, Season 1 laid the groundwork for what would become one of the biggest games of all-time. Gameplay felt a lot different due to the fact everyone was new to the game so building wasn’t utilized nearly as much as it is now.\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>has done an impeccable job of making building easier since Season 1, with updates such as allowing builds to go through trees and adding the builder-pro option for controller players.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Season 8<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Season 7 took players to a wintery wonderland while Season 8 had players battling it out in a pirate’s paradise full of palm trees, a volcano, and more. The battle-pass\u00a0included some solid skin\u00a0additions to the game such as the Peely (banana) skin which has become a classic skin worn by many\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>players still to this day. A new limited time mode was added in this season as well called the floor is lava mode, which really was one of the best limited mode’s\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>has ever\u00a0released.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Season 4<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Something that makes\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>so special\u00a0is it’s ability and willingness to have crossover events with other great franchises.\u00a0Season 4 gave players a chance to play as Thanos and iconic\u00a0super heroes in an epic crossover with the\u00a0Avengers<\/em> that really blew people away at the time.<\/p>\n

A strong battle-pass with upgradable skins and the first ever in-game event are some more reasons why\u00a0Season 4\u00a0<\/em>is one of the most beloved\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>seasons.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Season 2<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Fortnite’s<\/em> Season 2 update really put the game at an all new height when it came to fun. Season 1’s map felt pretty bland with just rolling hills of green and a few points of interests, so the new additions in Season 2 such as Tilted Towers and Snobby Shores were greatly welcomed. Updates kept the second season fresh by introducing the Chug Jug, impulse grenades, Cozy Campfires, and more that made the game feel much more diverse regarding gameplay.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>\u00a0Season 3<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Season 3 of\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>was released in February of 2018 and is still considered as one of the best times to have played the game. This was the first season to have a battle pass with 100 tiers to unlock, which set the standard of the many seasons to come after it. The battle pass had some iconic skins included as well\u00a0with the original John Wick skin being the tier 100 reward. Gameplay felt very balanced and Season 3 also was the first season to begin a storyline as meteorites fell from the sky setting up Season 4.<\/p>\n
