Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/strong> is already looking to be one of the games to beat for 2020 thanks to a stunning amount of visual detail<\/a> and a massive open world. But even after the game has released, developer CD Projekt Red is looking to expand things even further.<\/p>\n

Gamers have already known for a while that Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/a> will include multiplayer at some point, but the focus, for now, is on the single-player campaign. Once that launches in November, though, CDPR will also start working on its post-launch plans, which sound extensive.<\/p>\n

Speaking in a financial report, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kicinski discussed Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>\u2019s DLC plans<\/a> as they compare to The Witcher 3<\/em>. For Geralt\u2019s most recent adventure, CDPR offered two major story expansions as well as a ton of smaller DLC packages. Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> is going even bigger.<\/p>\n

As Kicinski explained:<\/p>\n

Yes, you can expect a similar path after release. You can expect more, actually. We\u2019re not going into too many details today, but everything will be clear before release. As we are close to the release, expect the post-release plans to be revealed fairly soon; a series of free DLCs and expansions will be described \u2013 as I said, you can expect it fairly soon and then everything will be made clear.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Considering that Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> will eventually have both a single player and a multiplayer component, it makes sense that the game would have more DLC to offer than The Witcher 3<\/em>. Obviously, the developer will want to continue the stories of Night City<\/a> through expansions like Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone, but there may be smaller episodes as well. If the world in Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> is as vast as CDPR suggests, there are likely tons of possible storylines for the developers to follow in post-launch content.<\/p>\n

And then there is also multiplayer, which presumably has its own DLC path. New cosmetics, weapons, and missions could be part of that post-launch plan, but at this point, fans don\u2019t really know what CDPR\u2019s approach to multiplayer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Many multiplayer games receive DLC but the cadence of releases usually depends on the type of experience. If Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>\u2019s multiplayer is more MMO-like, then the DLC might appear in expansions like the story DLC. But if the multiplayer is more competitive in nature, then it\u2019s possible that the DLC will offer new weapons, maps, and the like.<\/p>\n

Whatever the case may be, the prospect of a game will even more DLC than The Witcher 3<\/em> is going to excite fans of CD Projekt Red<\/a>. They have been waiting a long time to see what the Polish studio is cooking up, and early looks at gameplay and the world of Night City suggest that CDPR is going to outdo itself in every way possible. Now, it appears that also includes post-launch content as well.<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk 2077<\/em><\/strong> releases November 19, 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n
