\tApple set a 15 September date for its latest launch event, where the company is widely expected to take the wraps off its first 5G iPhones.<\/p>\n

Unlike in previous years, the event is likely to be held online only due to Covid-19 (coronavirus), with a webcast set to begin at 10 AM PT.<\/p>\n

Though Apple offered little detail about its plans, rumours suggest it is readying four new iPhone models with 5G [1] compatibility, with Bloomberg reporting a refreshed iPad Air; two Apple Watches; Homepod smart speaker; and headphones are also in the works.<\/p>\n

In August, Bloomberg also tipped Apple to continue its services push with the introduction of a new bundle offer that packages its Music, Arcade, TV, News and iCloud products together in different tiers.<\/p>\n

While the date of the launch event is largely in line with previous years, Apple executives previously stated its latest iPhone models will become available \u201ca few weeks later\u201d [2] than the usual late September timeframe.<\/p>\n

US operators previously highlighted the release of a 5G iPhone as a pivotal moment [3] for adoption of next generation technology in a country where iOS accounts for approximately half of the smartphone operating system market share.<\/p>\n
