For many, the original Demon’s Souls<\/strong><\/em> is an essential game for fans of the Soul franchise and titles that are brutally difficult. Excitement about a possible remake of the game, which was originally released in 2009, had been evident online for some time and many rejoiced when PlayStation announced plans to recreate Demon’s Souls<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0Fans have been interested in how the game will look and play on new consoles, and leaked images give insight into what players can expect.<\/p>\n

The team that is remaking the game are Bluepoint Games who have been responsible for critically acclaimed remakes such as Shadow of the Colossus<\/em><\/a>, as well as remasters of Gravity Rush<\/em> and God of War<\/em>. With the track record of the developer in mind, many are expecting the beloved title to make a significant comeback and the early screenshots point to an exciting title that stays true to the original game.<\/p>\n

The screenshots and box art were shared by Twitter user Nibellion, discovering the new images on Amazon before the page was taken down. The box art of the upcoming game is not the final choice for the title but it does illustrate its influences. Horror and fantasy elements are prevalent with a castle, dragon and skeletal enemies on the box all approaching the protagonist. Many will hope that this art makes it to the final product, despite it being noted that this is not the final design. The screenshots have a greater sense of permanence as they are taken from Demon’s Souls<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>gameplay. The screenshots look moody and are dark which is on-brand for the Souls games. Yet, the image which features a huge enemy with wings and horns is perhaps the most striking in these leaked pictures.<\/p>\n
