In an event this October, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/amd\/\">AMD<\/a> will showcase\u00a0its new Zen 3 Ryzen chips and Radeon graphics cards.<\/p>\n<p>It has already been an exciting\u00a0year for hardware enthusiasts. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nvidia-rtx-3090-3080-3070-launch-when-price-release\/\">Nvidia announced its powerful RTX-30 series<\/a>\u00a0last week, and Intel&#8217;s 11th-generation &#8220;Tiger Lake&#8221; chips are expected to come out next month. AMD&#8217;s first showcasing event will take place October 8th with Zen 3 in the spotlight, followed by coverage of RDNA 2 on October 28th.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pc-games-graphic-cards-gpu-nvidia-amd-3070-3080-3090-30-series-6000-series\/\">Gamers&#8217; Guide to Buying a Graphics Card<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Zen 3 is the latest iteration of AMD&#8217;s &#8220;Zen&#8221; devices, a 7nm+ CPU architecture which will power the new Ryzen 4000 desktop CPUs. Currently, the hardware that is expected to ship with the PS5 and the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-series-x-spec-leak-breakdown\/\">Xbox Series X this holiday season<\/a> is Zen 2, so these event will\u00a0likely be aimed at PC gamers who are looking to upgrade in 2021. The Zen 3 processors are expected to be priced similarly to the Zen 2.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AMD\/status\/1303727083747766274\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>RDNA 2 is the new rendering\u00a0architecture behind AMD&#8217;s &#8216;Big Navi&#8217; RX-6000 series graphics cards, which many\u00a0will remember from the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-unreal-engine-5-demo-video-epic-games\/\">E3 demo of Unreal Engine 5 running on the PS5<\/a> back in 2019. It&#8217;s likely the event will be focusing entirely on the RX-6000 series, and AMD will use the showcases as a proving ground to show that its RX-6000\u00a0GPUs and Ryzen 4000 CPUs are a good combination.<\/p>\n<p>Leaks\u00a0at the beginning of August suggested that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/amd-big-navi-graphics-card-underperform-rumor\/\">Nvidia&#8217;s GeForce Graphics cards might end up outperforming the Radeon RTX line<\/a>.\u00a0This year, it seems the cost\/performance balance means more than ever to consumers, so this event in early October could end up being a make-or-break moment for the company.<\/p>\n<p>AMD has been having a very good fiscal year so far,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/amd-stock-all-time-high\/\">achieving record-breaking stocks in August<\/a>, so other manufacturers may end up planning their next\u00a0announcements around these two dates in order to achieve maximum visibility. AMD, Intel, and Nvidia are all trying to prove that their hardware is the best, and\u00a0timing\u00a0is\u00a0important.<\/p>\n<p>This could potentially\u00a0be the perfect opportunity for some surprise game trailers, particularly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/future-vfx-unreal-engine-mandalorian-westworld-gamescom\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">games running the Unreal Engine 5<\/a>. However,\u00a0AMD has a potential edge in that it&#8217;s developing both CPUs and GPUs, making a unified architecture which theoretically could perform better than other combinations like an Intel CPU paired with an Nvidia GPU.
