Based upon the action-adventure\u00a0of the same name, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/search\/dragon's%20dogma\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em><\/a>\u00a0is an action epic set within a fantasy realm filled with deadly beasts, and a dragon hellbent on the destruction of the entire world.<\/p>\n<p>To build the excitement of the upcoming series, Netflix has released a Character Showcase trailer, displaying who will be starring in the series, as well as the voice behind each character.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/netflix-dragons-dogma-first-look\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Netflix Gives First Look at Dragon\u2019s Dogma Series<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Character Showcase trailer follows the release of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/netflix-dragons-dogma-first-look\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">first trailer of <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em> on August 24th<\/a>. The Character Showcase debuted on YouTube but was quickly retweeted by members of the cast, including renowned voice actress Erica Mendez. The trailer showcases the various characters set to appear in <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em>, each with their own respective voice actor.<\/p>\n<p>Coming off of his work on <em>Final Fantasy VII Remake<\/em>, <em>Dragon Dogma&#8217;s<\/em> protagonist, Ethan, will be voiced by Greg Chun.\u00a0Erica Mendez, who reprised her role as Retsuko in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/aggretsuko-season-3-trailer\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aggretsuko Season 3<\/a>, voices the warrior, Hannah.\u00a0The primary antagonist of <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em>, Dragon, will be voiced by David Dodge, who recently voiced PJ Clarkson in <i>Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0The rest of the cast includes Cristina Vee (<i>Dorohedoro), <\/i>Jeannie Tirado<i> (Tower of God), <\/i>and Ryan Bartley<i>\u00a0(Japan Sinks 2020).<\/i><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tsunderica\/status\/1301369567512375296\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DavidLodgeVOPro\/status\/1301651606526517248\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is the first anime adaptation of <em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em>, but not the first time a video game has been adapted into an anime series for Netflix. Konami&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/castlevania-netflix-series-gore\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Castlevania <\/em>was adapted into an anime series for Netflix<\/a>,\u00a0launching in 2017 and seeing an extraordinary amount of success since debuting. Based on the video game franchise of the same name, <em>Castlevania\u00a0<\/em>follows the story of Dracula and his revenge against humans, as well as their entanglements with the Belmont family. Recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/john-wick-splinter-cell-anime-netflix\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Netflix announced an animated adaptation of Tom Clancy&#8217;s <em>Splinter Cell<\/em><\/a>, based on the series of stealth-action video games of the same name, with\u00a0<em>John Wick <\/em>writer Derek Kolstad attached.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em> is set to be another exciting addition to Netflix&#8217;s Original Anime portfolio, which includes an <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/cyberpunk-2077-edgerunners-anime-netflix\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">anime adaptation for Cyberpunk 2077<\/a>. The voice cast is stellar and the animation is sharp. It will be interesting to see where the Netflix adaption takes the lore of\u00a0<em>Dragon&#8217;s Dogma<\/em> and how it incorporates parts of the video game into the overall series.
