It’s rare anymore that battle royale games launch in relative obscurity and grow more popular organically, but such is the case with Spellbreak<\/em><\/strong>. Developed by indie studio Proletariat, the free-to-play battle royale launched on September 3 across all major platforms. And despite little in the way of marketing, Spellbreak<\/em><\/a> is already becoming one of the fastest-growing games on Twitch, with more than 40,000 concurrent viewers at its peak.<\/p>\n

Starting September 3, Spellbreak<\/em>‘s viewership on Twitch started in low numbers. But in the days since has been picked up and played by many of Twitch’s most popular streamers<\/a>. DrLupo alone is currently streaming Spellbreak<\/em> to over 10,000 viewers. Other streamers from the past week include Sodapoppin, Lirik, and competitive gamers like A_Seagull. At the rate it’s going, Spellbreak<\/em> could become one of the most-viewed games on Twitch before too long.<\/p>\n

Proletariat appears to be seeing similar trends, itself. The studio released some early information about Spellbreak<\/em> on Twitter this past Tuesday. That information confirmed that Spellbreak<\/em> already had 2 million total players, as well as 1.7 million hours watched on Twitch. Odds are that number has rapidly increased for the battle royale<\/a> even in the past few days.<\/p>\n
