Those looking to purchase Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em><\/strong> on Amazon may\u00a0be out of luck, as the service has announced the game is currently sold out less than a week after it was announced.<\/p>\n

While fans can still purchase the game on digital storefronts for\u00a0other retailers, Amazon’s quantities ran dry pretty quickly. Though the game will likely restock at some point,\u00a0Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/a><\/em>\u00a0may still\u00a0be difficult to purchase online due to the games’ popularity, and because of an odd wrinkle Nintendo added to its release.<\/p>\n

The announcement of Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em> was long rumored, and eagerly anticipated\u00a0by fans. However, the game, which collects Super Mario 64<\/em>, Super Mario Sunshine<\/em>, and Super Mario Galaxy<\/em> into one package, has\u00a0a catch: Both the physical and digital releases of Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em> will be available for a limited time<\/a>,\u00a0only through\u00a0March 2021. The decision has many\u00a0baffled, especially for the digital release.<\/p>\n

Online marketplace eBay still has copies for sale, but prices\u00a0have skyrocketed\u00a0due to\u00a0Super Mario 3d All-Stars’<\/em> limited release<\/a>. Some buyers are asking for twice the retail value of the game, leading to complaints\u00a0on social media. As holidays approach and the game becomes harder to find, it’s expected that those prices may continue to\u00a0rise as\u00a0scalpers try to make a quick buck.<\/p>\n

While fans may not be able to find a copy on Amazon, Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em> is still available at retail stores, with many retailers offering pre-order bonuses<\/a>. Pre-ordering the game at Walmart\u00a0will net players stickers themed after the Mario franchise as a whole, while Target is offering Magnets with a similar aesthetic. GameStop’s bonus is a bit different, as the retailer is offering Joy-Con covers based off the three games found in the collection.<\/p>\n

Mario’s 35th Anniversary Direct featured\u00a0several game announcements\u00a0celebrating the plumber’s history. The Direct took place in early September, but it was discovered on Nintendo’s official website for Super Mario Maker 2<\/em>\u00a0that its\u00a0involvement in the anniversary celebration was meant to take place in April<\/a>. In the Direct it was announced that a\u00a0special course in Super Mario Maker 2<\/em> would instead be released in November.<\/p>\n

The 35th Anniversary Direct dramatically changed Nintendo’s fall 2020 lineup of games, which was previously only occupied by Pikmin 3 Deluxe<\/em>. Nintendo also recently\u00a0revealed\u00a0Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity<\/em><\/a>, releasing this November. While many fans were concerned about Nintendo’s offering of games in 2020 due to COVID-19, it seems the company has managed to stay on course and plans to\u00a0end the year on a high note.<\/p>\n

Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em><\/strong> will launch on Nintendo Switch September 18.<\/p>\n
