The most recent update added some new things for players to do, but some are now discovering some secret additions as well. For the most part, these additions aren&#8217;t anything substantial, but they do serve as nice <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-redemption-2-undead-nightmare-easter-egg\/\">Easter eggs for players to discover<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/red-dead-online\/\">Red Dead Online<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>players went through a bit of a dry spell where the game was largely neglected, but thankfully that drought is over. This newest update added\u00a0a new mission and a new hardcore series mode, but apparently that isn&#8217;t all that was thrown in there.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a class=\"bc-title-link\" title=\"Red Dead Redemption 2 Fan Creates Insane Gaming Room\" href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-redemption-2-gaming-room\/\">Red Dead Redemption 2 Fan Creates Insane Gaming Room<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-online-ghost-animals\/\">new ghostly animal appears in\u00a0<em>Red Dead Online<\/em><\/a>, as players now have the ability to summon Ghost Buck. This is mostly just for visuals, as it doesn&#8217;t appear that Ghost Buck has any effects that modify the game, but he will wander around the player&#8217;s campfire for a minute or two when summoned.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/feVP5GTjzH4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In order to summon Ghost Buck, players will need to be at a campfire and burn\u00a0Harrietum Officinalis. This must be done at night, as the option won&#8217;t be available during the day time. Given that this ritual is intended to summon a ghost, this makes a lot of sense. It doesn&#8217;t appear that players need to have <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/red-dead-online-players-transforming-bucks-vitalism-update\/amp\/?__twitter_impression=true\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">transformed into a Buck in <\/a><em>Red Dead Online\u00a0<\/em>to do this, but there&#8217;s no concrete confirmation of this just yet.\u00a0This ritual wasn&#8217;t covered by Rockstar Games in the patch notes for the most recent update, so it was either a bug or it was intended to be a secret. More likely than not, it is leading up to some sort of\u00a0<em>Red Dead Online<\/em> Halloween event, as this isn&#8217;t the first ghost animal found in\u00a0the game.<\/p>\n<p>It seems very unlikely that this is a bug, as the steps required are very specific and it doesn&#8217;t seem like it could be accidentally coded in. This being an intentional addition also supports the fan theory that ghost animals will play a major role in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-online-halloween-event-leak\/\"><em>Red Dead Online<\/em>&#8216;s upcoming Halloween event<\/a>. At this point there&#8217;s now way to truly tell, but fans should seek out enough Harrietum Officinalis to summon a Ghost Buck of their own.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, he will just wander around the player&#8217;s camp site and will disappear shortly thereafter. This means there isn&#8217;t any real way to interact with this <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-online-update-adds-legendary-shadow-buck\/\">Legendary Buck<\/a> yet, but that may change in the future.
