The man tasked with envisioning all this is none other than Christopher Landon, who was behind the mega successful comedy horror films\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Happy Death Day<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Happy Death Day 2U<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Starring Vince Vaughn (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wedding Crashers<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) and Kathryn Newton (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Big Little Lies<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), with the latter being the innocent unpopular teenage protagonist who gets body-swapped into Vaughn&#8217;s serial killer vessel body only to see her impostor tear it up in her school&#8217;s social hierarchy, the trailer shows off the pair\u2019s antics in this crazy setting, while making fun of the usual horror and teenage movie tropes, much in the same way recent<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/zombie-movies-not-scary-anymore-reason\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">comedy horror <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">films like <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Zombieland <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">continue to do so<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for what is turning into an ever increasingly present formula in Hollywood<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><b>RELATED: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-beautiful-horror-games-2010s\/\"><b>The 10 Most Beautiful Horror Games Of The 2010s<\/b><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though the basic <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freaky Friday<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> plot is no stranger to the big screen, TV or even theater, this marks the first time that Mary Rodgers\u2019s book serves as inspiration for something not overseen by Disney, taking a big leap to what seems to be an increasingly more fresh and welcoming genre. It even prompted Stephen King to chime in on Twitter, singing praises for the trailer and jokingly throwing in Vince Vaughn&#8217;s name for an Oscar nomination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/UniversalHorror\/status\/1304047484222701575?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With it Blumhouse also continues to show their faith in Landon&#8217;s work, who aside from directing <em>Happy Death Day<\/em> was in charge of the\u00a0four entries in the <em>Paranormal Activity<\/em> series and, to lesser success, co-wrote 2016\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Viral<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the trailer screams for what would have perhaps been a Halloween night release, with the massive amount of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/video-game-delay-cyberpunk-avengers-final-fantasy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delays seen throughout the whole entertainment industry<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> due to Covid-19, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freaky <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is still looking to squeeze in a scary showing with an advertised premiere date for theaters on November Friday the 13th.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Freaky <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can match Landon\u2019s recent commercial and critical performance, it could be another winning entry to add to his portfolio;
