With this in mind,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/microsoft-third-next-gen-xbox\/\">Microsoft<\/a>\u00a0is giving fans the chance to experience some of the special features of the Xbox Series X with a less expensive price tag. However, the cheaper\u00a0<strong>Xbox Series S<\/strong> may create setbacks going forward for developers who are creating games for both of these consoles.<\/p>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-price-point-leaked-xbox-series-x-comparison\/\">Sony<\/a> has not revealed as much about the PS5 as some fans have hoped to see by this point, Microsoft has been much more forthcoming with information about their next-gen consoles and have recently revealed the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/xbox-series-s\/\">Xbox Series S<\/a> to the gaming community. This new console will allow some fans who may not be able to afford the full Xbox Series X to play games with the new next-gen features. However, one Infinity Ward dev thinks that this new console may create difficulties for game developers.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-series-s-master-chief-easter-egg-halo\/\">Xbox Series S Has Master Chief Easter Egg<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>David Mickner, a multiplayer designer at Infinity Ward, posted to Twitter that, while\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/ea-play-xbox-game-pass-free-holiday-2020\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Xbox Game Pass<\/a> and the price tag of the Xbox Series S are a great value for gamers, he sees some issues for developers. He points out the less expensive console&#8217;s lower specs, and said that this would cause a &#8220;bottleneck&#8221; in the game development world, creating more issues that devs would need to work around.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DavidMickner\/status\/1303391432183435264\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft released the specs for this recently announced console,\u00a0comparing it to the already expected <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-series-x-stand-remove\/\">Xbox Series X<\/a>. While some of the specs are similar, there are some very drastic differences as well. The most striking differences between the two systems that many developers have taken notice of are the CPU clock speed, which is 3.4GHz compared to the Xbox Series X speed of 3.6GHz, and the GPU Power. The difference in the GPU Power between the consoles is 8.15 TFLOPS, with the Xbox Series S being on the weaker end of this spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-warzone-superstore-money-glitch\/\">Infinity Ward<\/a> dev with these concerns, many others have said that the different specs won&#8217;t be as much of a problem as some are making it out to be. Since the Xbox Series S supports the same GPU features, it will be able to run the same games as the Xbox Series X but with a lower resolution quality and less memory bandwidth. Others commented, saying that lower end PCs don&#8217;t disrupt developers who make games for that platform.
