While the bosses of The Surge 2<\/em> might be somewhat lackluster when compared to the other games on this list, the combat and level design pretty much redeem this game in the eyes of players.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Mortal Shell<\/h2>\n

One of the most recent Soulslike games to come out is also arguably one of the very best games in that “genre” as well. Mortal Shell<\/em> might be a rather short experience, but it’s still one of the most entertaining games that Souls fans can give a whirl.<\/p>\n

The idea of the player occupying four Shells\u00a0\u2014 essentially working as four different classes of sorts\u00a0\u2014 as they roam around a mysterious yet well-crafted world is quite engrossing, and Mortal Shell<\/em> pretty much executes all these ideas to a T.<\/p>\n

The first Nioh<\/em> game might’ve been a fairly interesting title in its own right, but\u00a0\u2014 just like The Surge 2<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 Nioh 2<\/em>\u00a0blew its predecessor out of the water with the numerous upgrades and tweaks<\/a> it makes to the previous game’s established systems.<\/p>\n

The end result is what most people consider to be one of the most challenging yet enjoyable games around, which is hefty praise indeed.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Code Vein<\/h2>\n

The idea of an anime Dark Souls<\/em> is something that should’ve been quite obvious, so it’s quite surprising that it took quite a few years before Code Vein<\/em> finally decided to cash in on this idea.<\/p>\n

The game itself is quite fun for Souls<\/em> fans, although most other gamers might find this package just a bit too niche for their liking. That being said, Code Vein<\/em> is a great game to play through<\/a>, especially if one has a friend to enjoy the adventure with\u00a0\u2014 just like Remnant: From The Ashes<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The idea of a boss rush game can either pay massive dividends or end up missing the mark completely. Thankfully, Furi<\/em> ended up being in the former category. The game is an absolute blast to play through, with players genuinely feeling a sense of euphoria after going through this incredible adventure.<\/p>\n

It certainly helps that the soundtrack compliments the action in the best way possible, making this experience even more memorable.<\/p>\n

The idea of using a slew of weapons to hunt monsters<\/a> is an idea that is common in both Monster Hunter: World<\/em> and Remnant: From The Ashes<\/em>. Capcom’s masterpiece is easily one of the best Monster Hunter<\/em> games around, making full use of the modern hardware to deliver an experience that is truly sublime.<\/p>\n

Of course, the major difference is that Arthur Morgan feels like an absolute badass<\/a> as he slings his gun around, while the player character in Remnant: From The Ashes<\/em> is pretty much always vulnerable and never gets too big of an advantage in combat.<\/p>\n
