To preview what players will experience within this sampling of gameplay, a trailer was recently posted. In it, Crash is navigating a prehistoric level while narrowly escaping the jaws of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.<\/p>\n<p>While the name seems to indicate otherwise, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/crash-bandicoot-4\/\"><em>Crash Bandicoot 4<\/em><\/a> is the eighth installment of the series. It will release October 3, 2020, but a demo will be available next week. Unfortunately, there&#8217;s a catch. For now, the demo is only available to those who pre-order the title digitally, which makes it more of a bonus than a way for potential buyers to try out the game before committing to a purchase. The demo will be available on September 16 and the demo trailer will preview what it has in store.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-4-switch-leak\/\">Crash Bandicoot 4 Switch Version Possibly Leaked<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Players will be able to traverse three levels within the demo. The trailer shows Crash hopping his way through a prehistoric-looking level, where the T-Rex resides, a cold, icy level, and another one covered with lava. Viewers might notice Crash wearing some of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-4-skins-crash-coco\/\">new skins that can be earned in-game<\/a>. In the latest installment, players will take control of Crash and Coco Bandicoot, both of which will have a variety of skins. Unlike previous games, players can switch between the two at will at any level.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dNWs5R6_r-g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Longtime nemesis of Crash, Doctor Neo Cortex, will also be playable and part of his gameplay will also be included in the demo. He has a few unique actions, including one that has him use a special gun to makes platforms appear. This isn&#8217;t the first time Cortex has been playable. He also made appearances in games like <em>Crash Team Racing<\/em> and <em>Crash Bash.<\/em> It will be interesting to see what the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/crash-bandicoot-dr-neo-cortex-worst-things-ranked\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">villainous Dr. Neo Cortex<\/a> has to offer this time around outside of simply causing trouble for Crash.<\/p>\n<p>Players will also be able to take <em>Crash Bandicoot 1<\/em> love interest\u00a0Tawna out for a spin in the full version of the game. She was recently featured in a gameplay reveal video that showed off <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-4-tawna\/\">Tawna&#8217;s new look<\/a>. It is a noticeable departure from how she appears in past installments and there&#8217;s a good reason for that. According to developer Toys For Bob, this Tawna is from an alternate universe.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the new <em>Crash Bandicoot<\/em> will offer a challenge for new and returning players. Those looking for a little extra difficulty will want to work towards <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-4-its-about-time-flashback-tape-levels\/\">unlocking Flashback Tapes<\/a>. These are secret levels that are only made available by meeting certain conditions.
