In addition to announcing an analog adaptation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/borderlands\/\"><em>Borderlands<\/em><\/a> franchise, players who spring for the collector&#8217;s edition will\u00a0receive bonus gaming components.<\/p>\n<p>The tabletop game, dubbed <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/borderlands-3-bunkers-and-badasses-tabletop-game-tiny-tina\/\"><em>Bunkers &amp; Badasses<\/em>, is based on\u00a0Tiny Tina&#8217;s Assault on Dragon Keep<\/a>\u2014one of\u00a0<em>Borderlands<\/em> <em>2<\/em>&#8216;s DLC expansions<em>.\u00a0<\/em>The expansion\u00a0is framed as a tabletop RPG session led by Tiny Tina, where the Vault Hunters act as player characters in\u00a0<em>Bunkers &amp; Badasses<\/em>, which is the\u00a0<em>Borderlands<\/em> universe&#8217;s equivalent to\u00a0<em>Dungeons &amp; Dragons<\/em>. The formerly fictional\u00a0RPG\u00a0has been developed by Nerdvana Games, and is currently available for pre-order at a discount.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/heroquest-board-game-remake\/\">Classic Board Game HeroQuest May Be Coming Back<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Just before it announced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/borderlands-3-new-dlc-2020-character-skill-trees-flak-trapper-loader-bot\/\">new skill trees coming to <em>Borderlands 3<\/em>\u00a0in 2020<\/a>,<em>\u00a0<\/em>Gearbox devoted part of its digital showcase to revealing some of the components\u00a0for the role-playing game. The heart of the game, the <em>Bunkers &amp; Badasses<\/em> sourcebook, carries a $59.99 price tag. But the deluxe edition will include a battle map, a &#8220;Bunkermaster&#8221; screen, customized dice, 10 miniatures for player characters, and 50 enemy standees. The deluxe edition will retail at $119.99 upon release, but can be pre-ordered for $99.99 until September 30th.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/s5cfuzdPFsE?start=2084&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the game&#8217;s introduction, Randy Pitchford assures viewers that the full-color, hardbound sourcebook will be made with the highest quality components, as would the deluxe edition components. Pitchford also detailed some of the content available in the sourcebook, mentioning three specific campaigns. In addition to <em>Assault on Dragon Keep<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Merchant&#8217;s Quest for the Wizard&#8217;s Wand<\/em>, the book will also detail a direct sequel campaign to <em>Assault <\/em>titled\u00a0<em>Buttstalion&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em><em>Honey Heist<\/em>, as well as irreverent annotations from Tiny Tina.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time Gearbox has collaborated with Nerdvana Games for a Tiny Tina-themed tabletop\u00a0game. At last year&#8217;s PAX East, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/borderlands-tiny-tinas-tea-party-card-game\/\">Gearbox revealed\u00a0a card game titled <em>Tiny Tina&#8217;s Robot Tea Party<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But\u00a0Nerdvana may have some stiff competition in the form of another in-universe board game coming to real-life tables. Riot Games is set to release a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/league-of-legends-board-game\/\"><em>League of Legends<\/em>&#8216;-themed\u00a0board game,\u00a0<em>Tellstones: King&#8217;s Gambit<\/em><\/a>, though that title&#8217;s release date has yet to be announced, and it will likely fill a different niche than a pen and paper RPG. While\u00a0<em>Bunkers &amp; Badasses<\/em>&#8216;\u00a0precise release date also has yet to be announced, the pre-order page estimates it will arrive in the first quarter of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>There is also plenty of fresh\u00a0<em>Borderlands<\/em>\u00a0content to tide players over, including\u00a0the aforementioned skill tree update, and the fourth and final DLC for\u00a0<em>Borderlands 3<\/em>&#8216;s season pass,\u00a0<em>Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck.\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/borderlands-3-psycho-krieg-and-the-fantastic-fustercluck-sept-10\/\">Krieg&#8217;s return to\u00a0<em>Borderlands<\/em>,\u00a0will likely prove itself a\u00a0crowd-pleasing move<\/a>, even\u00a0though the psycho is not a playable character in the expansion.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Borderlands 3\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
