With AAA games set for release as launch titles<\/a>, the interest level in this console war might not have been at this level before. In order to further bring it to people\u2019s attention, fans of either consoles have come up with many memes to put the other down. These are all pretty funny no matter what your affiliation might be, so let\u2019s check out 10 hilarious PS5 vs. Xbox Series X memes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sony took a big step away from their previously very consistent line of simple black PlayStations and instead designed a white and black tower. Although Microsoft has been a bit less consistent over the years, they went\u00a0with a thick cube aesthetic for the Xbox Series X. We love pitting the rival consoles against each other in funny memes, but in all seriousness, we’re just really glad we have these concrete releases to look forward to.<\/em><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Coffin Dance<\/h2>\n

Remember the Dancing Pallbearers and their viral Coffin Dance video from earlier this year? People everywhere remixed the song\u00a0from the famous clip and combined it with their own funny videos. It seems a still shot from the video made it to the gaming community, as someone hilariously edited the pallbearers as PS5’s carrying the Xbox on their shoulders.<\/p>\n

Sony’s two-hour PS5 event back in June was a major point in the console’s favor, as it answered a ton of burning questions about the PS5 and made fans even more excited about it. Your move, Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Trash Can<\/h2>\n

The Xbox Series X is not without its quirks. Its 3-D rectangular shape certainly does not make it very portable, and it may fit a little funky in gaming spaces. Someone, likely a PlayStation fan, took a jab at the design by adding a trash bag to the top and calling it a Trashbox. Maybe Microsoft designed the console in collaboration with Rubbermaid?<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Copycat<\/h2>\n

Of course, a brand new console design wouldn’t be complete without a new controller to match. Sony ditched the all-black DualShock (though it came in many funky colors and designs) and introduced the new DualSense<\/a>. Like the console, the controller boasts a white design with black buttons and handles. Xbox fans couldn’t help but notice that it looks oddly similar to their controllers. Just like in school when students copy each other’s homework but change it up just a little so it’s not obvious.<\/p>\n

In addition to the new design, the DualSense features haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a microphone, and an audio jack for headsets, so all jokes aside, that’s pretty cool.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Household Appliance Wars<\/h2>\n

When the designs of the next-gen consoles were revealed, everyone’s minds seemed to think of two household appliances: a refrigerator and a WiFi router. The small, boxy nature of the Xbox Series X and the vertical disc drive in the bottom left corner really end up making it look like a mini-fridge with a handle. As for the PS5? We aren’t sure why Sony went with an upright model<\/a> instead of one that lays down, but that really lends itself to the WiFi router vibes. Which appliance — er, console — will win?<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Hard To Argue Against That<\/h2>\n

The gaming industry loves having characters take up different outfits<\/a>, something that fans enjoy quite a bit as well. In this scenario, though, Xbox fans are arguing that the PlayStation kind of took the easy route.<\/p>\n

Hilariously, this meme has the Xbox controller put on a tank top to become the PS5\u2019s DualSense. What\u2019s funny is that it actually does seem like a perfect fit, meaning Xbox fans will most definitely use this to poke fun at the PS5 copying their style.<\/p>\n

The impact of the DualSense\u2019s design will most definitely be felt until the next Xbox and the PlayStation 6 are revealed, as Xbox fans will hold on to the belief that the controller is a rip-off of their preferred console.<\/p>\n

According to this meme, the stealing part was completely literal, and PlayStation actually came barging in to snag the controller. One thing\u2019s for sure, you can\u2019t watch Monsters Inc.<\/i> without thinking of the PS5 and Xbox Series X battle again.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Who Wants Something Cold?<\/h2>\n

The shape of the Xbox Series X<\/a> really does make up its own jokes, as its resemblance to a normal box has prompted PS fans to lay in the jokes hard. Here, one person is under the idea that the PS5 reveal will quite literally compete with the Xbox Series X.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interestingly, the battle between Xbox and PS fans has been pretty quiet for almost a decade by now. This is mainly due to PS4 absolutely dominating Xbox One in sales<\/a>. However, Xbox fans believe the third war between the consoles will be different.<\/span><\/p>\n

While the Dualshock controller<\/a> looks quite different, the new one\u2019s far too similar for PS fans to have a go at the Xbox controller anymore. In this regard, Xbox fans are considering it a victory now that they can\u2019t be mocked for its design.<\/p>\n

Even funnier is how there\u2019s a glass slab placed above the Xbox Series X before placing the PS5 on it, thereby implying that the latter console shouldn\u2019t even touch its rival directly.<\/span><\/p>\n
