The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is\u00a0currently regarded as one of the best video games of all time, so it makes sense that anyone who worked on the project would be destined to do great things.\u00a0CD Projekt Red<\/strong> is seemingly gearing up to prove\u00a0this exact hypothesis\u00a0with\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>which looks to be its most ambitious and advanced\u00a0release to date.<\/p>\n

However, it seems some of the other minds behind Geralt of Rivia’s third video game adventure are also getting ready to\u00a0unleash\u00a0something huge, with several veterans\u00a0from the team creating a new studio called Starward Industries. The company\u00a0will assemble\u00a0some of gaming’s best talent, with those involved\u00a0having worked on\u00a0The Witcher<\/a>, Dying Light, Cyberpunk 2077,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Dead Island.<\/em><\/p>\n

Better yet,\u00a0the studio has a new game in development too, with the team announcing\u00a0The Invincible.\u00a0<\/em>The title will be an alternate universe, science-fiction tale, with the story set in a world where the Cold War<\/a> never ended and humanity has developed advanced, space-exploration technology. It’ll\u00a0boast an atompunk aesthetic, and is supposedly based upon the work of novelist Stanislaw Lem, who often combined science fiction with philosophical ideas throughout his work. It’s\u00a0undeniably an interesting concept for a video game, and luckily, Starward Industries had even more to say about what its moment to moment gameplay will look like.<\/p>\n

Speaking to PCGamesN, project lead Marek Markuszewsk was very open about what fans can expect from\u00a0The Invincible,<\/em> telling the publication that “the gameplay is quite diverse.”\u00a0According to the developer, it’ll include\u00a0“exploration, navigation, face to face discussions with NPCs, operating various equipment which is all analogue, solving clues, interacting with robots, piloting drones, crunching data, even driving vehicles.”\u00a0The CD Projekt Red<\/a> veteran also revealed that there’s a lot of radio\u00a0communication between the protagonist and other NPCs, stating that “in that way, The Invincible can remind of Firewatch.”<\/p>\n

He also tells PCGamesN that “in terms of gameplay and atmosphere, the closest game I can think of is Alien: Isolation<\/a>.” Those wondering when they can expect to see\u00a0The Invincible\u00a0<\/em>on their screens, Markuszewsk reveals that the team aims to release the game next year, with it being in development since 2018. It looks to be a very different sci-fi tale with a lot of very interesting influences, so here’s to hoping the\u00a0Witcher 3\u00a0<\/em>veterans can once again pull of something magnificent. In the meantime, their former co-workers will be dropping\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077\u00a0<\/em>in November this year.<\/p>\n

The Invincible<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>is currently in development\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/i>with a targeted release date of 2021.<\/p>\n
