The Legend Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening<\/a><\/em>, the classic original Game Boy<\/a> title and Link’s first\u00a0adventure\u00a0on a handheld\u00a0console, was\u00a0remade for Nintendo Switch<\/a> in September 2019. The game follows Link as he tries to escape Koholint Island with the help of the native islanders like Marin, Link’s romantic interest<\/a> (watch out, Zelda!), and the mysterious Owl.<\/p>\n

Players are tasked with clearing 8 dungeons to find the Instruments of the Sirens, which allow Link to hatch\u00a0the Wind Fish from his egg\u00a0at the top of Mount Tamaranch. 5 of the dungeons in\u00a0Link’s Awakening<\/em><\/a> require keys to enter\u00a0that are scattered throughout the island.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Tail Key<\/h2>\n

Before entering Link’s Awakening<\/em>‘s<\/a> first dungeon, players must find the Tail Key in the Mysterious Forest. After their encounter with the Owl the first time they enter the Forest, players should proceed north and fight off some enemy Moblins,\u00a0and then make a right\u00a0to get to the Cave. After\u00a0proceeding through the Cave, players will find the Toadstool, which they should bring to the Witch’s Hut in the southern portion of Koholint Prairie.<\/p>\n

In exchange for the Toadstool, Syrup the Witch will give Link some magic powder. Head back to the Mysterious Forest and instead of making a right to the Cave where the first group of Moblins is, continue north. Use the newly acquired Magic Powder on the evasive “raccoon” in this area and continue forward. Here, players will find a chest with the Tail Key, giving them access to the Tail Cave just south of Mabe Village.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Slime Key<\/h2>\n

After clearing the Bottle Grotto dungeon, players will need to find the Slime Key before continuing to the Key Cavern. Head to the telephone booth in Ukuku Prairie. Old Man Ulrira will direct players over the phone to Prince Richard, a former swordsman from Kanalet Castle who now lives in Pothole Field close to the Key Cavern. Once players meet Richard, he’ll ask them to retrieve 5 Golden Leaves\u00a0from\u00a0Kanalet Castle. Before heading there, players\u00a0should\u00a0get the\u00a0shovel, which can be acquired from the shop in Mabe Village, and\u00a0the Banana, which\u00a0can be obtained through Link’s trading sequence.<\/p>\n

At the castle, players will meet Kiki the Monkey, who will help Link get inside the castle in exchange for the Banana. All 5 Golden Leaves can be found by progressing through Kanalet Castle. After obtaining all 5 Leaves, head back to Richard who will now\u00a0reveal a secret passage in his house. Proceed through the cave and into the field behind Richard’s house. Avoid the potholes and get to the Owl Statue in the\u00a0northwest corner of the field. Equip the shovel and dig right in front of the Statue to get the Slime Key.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Angler Key<\/h2>\n

Right after finishing the Key Cavern, players will need to hunt down the Angler Key to access Angler’s Tunnel,\u00a0Link’s Awakening<\/em>‘s fourth dungeon.\u00a0Link will first need to find Marin in the southeast corner of Toronbo Shores to get her to follow him. After\u00a0an emotional talk with Marin<\/a> on the beach, players should head to Animal Village. Proceed to the southeast portion of this area to find the Walrus. Marin will wake him up with a song, granting Link access to the Yarna Desert.<\/p>\n

Here, players will encounter a Lanmola, a giant centipede-like creature that burrows into and out of the sand. Players will need to defeat the Lanmola by hitting its head several times while trying not to fall into the quicksand. After the Lanmola is beaten, it will drop the Angler Key. Follow\u00a0it down into the quicksand to\u00a0get it (don’t worry, it won’t hurt this time!)<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Face Key<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The Face Shrine, Link’s Awakening<\/em>‘s<\/a> sixth dungeon, requires the Face Key to grant access. Players will need to have the Boomerang, which can only be acquired by completing the trading sequence and finding Goriya with the Magnifying Glass. Goriya can be found behind a cracked wall in Toronbo Shores and is only visible using the Magnifying Glass. Trade him the Shovel in exchange for the Boomerang.<\/p>\n

After\u00a0acquiring the Boomerang, head back to Animal Village, then proceed north and east\u00a0to find the Ancient Ruins. Defeat the Armos statues outside\u00a0using the Boomerang, and head into the temple in the Ruins. A giant Armos Knight<\/a> will be found in the temple. Use the Boomerang or Link’s sword spin attack to shred the Knight’s armor. Once defeated, the Knight will drop the Face Key.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Bird Key<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

In order to enter Eagle’s Tower, the seventh dungeon in Link’s Awakening<\/em>, players will need to find the Bird Key in the Tal Tal Mountain Range. First, players will need to have acquired the Ocarina<\/a>, which can be found in the Dream Shrine. Head to the signpost maze by Mabe Village. At the end of the maze, Maru will teach Link the Frog’s Song of Soul. Players can\u00a0move the statue of the Flying Rooster\u00a0in Mabe Village thanks to the Power Bracelet found in the Face Shrine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Head there and play the Frog’s Song of Soul in front of the Flying Rooster’s grave to wake him up. Take the Flying Rooster to the Tal Tal Mountain Range and proceed past the waterfall. Enter the cavern under the house with the Rooster Weathercock, and use the Flying Rooster to traverse around the rocks and pits in the cave. Go to the room in the northern part of the cave to find the Bird Key.<\/p>\n
