It’s been years since Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End<\/em><\/strong> was released, but fans are still finding new things to love about the game. Developer\u00a0Naughty Dog<\/a>\u00a0is the creator of many well-loved video game series, and fans have been particularly excited to pick out the Easter eggs in each of the studio’s games.<\/p>\n

Naughty Dog is the studio behind two\u00a0excellent PlayStation video game franchises: Crash Bandicoot<\/em> and Uncharted<\/em>.\u00a0The crossover of fan dreams occurred when the\u00a0two series’ came together in Uncharted 4<\/em> as Nathan Drake and Elena sat down to play a round of Crash Bandicoot <\/em>on the PS1. The game within a game scenario worked perfectly for nostalgic fans who got to replay a classic Crash Bandicoot<\/em> level\u00a0while listening to\u00a0commentary from the Uncharted<\/em> characters. This was also before the release of the remastered Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy<\/em><\/a>, so it was a pretty big deal at the time.<\/p>\n

A fun fact for players is that Naughty Dog actually went the extra mile to make the Crash Bandicoot<\/em> scenario occur in Uncharted<\/a><\/em>, recreating the full level in its own game engine instead of simply emulating the old game. Shesez’ YouTube video series ‘Boundary Break’ explored the Uncharted 4<\/em> level, going deep behind the scenes to uncover the hidden workings of the segment.<\/p>\n

Going into the intricate level design, it was uncovered that Naughty Dog created 3D modelling of the entire Crash Bandicoo<\/em>t boulder run level, but only worked on elements that players would be able to see. So moving the camera around the level shows unfinished models and rendering, which is logical, seeing as the demo is only an Easter egg and doesn’t require the same level of detail as the actual Uncharted<\/em> game<\/a>.<\/p>\n
