Last year, The Young Bucks teased that an\u00a0All Elite Wrestling<\/strong> video game was in development. Details on the AEW video game<\/a> have remained scarce since then, but recent trademarks filed by AEW may reveal one of the game modes that fans will be able to play in the new game.<\/p>\n

All Elite Wrestling<\/a> has filed trademarks for “All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager” and “Elite GM,” which are “downloadable game software.” It’s possible that this hints at a General Manager mode for the AEW video game, but it’s also quite possible that these trademarks are in reference to a smaller scale project. The trademarks specify “for use on mobile and cellular phones,” suggesting\u00a0All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager could be the name of an AEW mobile game of some kind.<\/p>\n

For the uninitiated, General Manager Mode was a popular game mode featured in WWE video games in the mid- to late- 2000s. The General Manager mode in\u00a0WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2008<\/em> is considered in especially high regard, and so some fans were disappointed when the mode was phased out in subsequent entries. Even WWE stars like Xavier Woods<\/a> have pushed for GM mode to come back to WWE games, but to no avail.<\/p>\n

Regardless of whether or not All Elite Wrestling: Elite General Manager is a mode in the AEW video game or a mobile game, its title suggests that it could very well be similar to GM mode<\/a>. This would potentially include players putting together their own wrestling cards, managing talent, and more. But again, nothing official has been announced, and so all of this is just speculation at the time of this writing.<\/p>\n

While nothing official has been revealed in regards to the AEW video game, there have been some hints as to what it might entail. In the past, Cody Rhodes has teased that the AEW video game will play similarly to\u00a0WWF No Mercy<\/em><\/a>, widely considered to be one of the best professional wrestling games of all time. However, Cody has also been stressed\u00a0that video game development takes time, and so fans shouldn’t hold their breath for official AEW video game news any time soon.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, fans can expect AEW to continue making video game references on AEW Dynamite and its pay-per-view events. Whether it’s stars like Hikaru Shida dressing like Tifa from\u00a0FF7 Remake<\/em><\/a> or wrestlers using video game-inspired moves like Kenny Omega’s One-Winged Angel, there should be plenty for gaming fans to look forward to.<\/p>\n
