Valorant\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>has pleased a lot of players who were looking for a new team-based shooter. In fact, with its unique mechanics and character roster, some are already tipping Valorant<\/em> to be the best team-based shooter<\/a> despite its relatively short lifespan. However, the developers are conscious of areas where the game could be improved and in a recent interview, there was a suggestion that more casual modes of gameplay could be introduced in the title.<\/p>\n

Like most games that are based online,\u00a0Valorant<\/em> has had several updates<\/a> and this looks set to continue as the developer refined bugs and the overall experience.\u00a0Game Director Joe Ziegler has spoken about a desire to have “social downtime” in the competitive game. For many, this would be appreciated as there is a grind to level up as well as a constant challenge because of the game modes that are on offer. At the moment the game modes players can select are Spike Rush, Deathmatch, and Plant\/Defuse modes, all of which are competitive.<\/p>\n

Naturally, three game modes will eventually become tiresome for players. Ziegler discussed having areas where players could either warm-up before more competitive games or just chill out stating, “Those are the spaces that I think we’re going to continue see growing around Valorant. More tools to help you compete, but also more tools to actually help you just live a more full life inside of Valorant.” For many, this would be a welcome addition to Valorant<\/em><\/a> but exactly how a new mode will be implemented has yet to be discussed. However, it is clear that the team behind the game wants players to be able to unwind rather than be involved in \u201cvery stressful competitive games back-to-back.”<\/p>\n

The game also has plans for future updates to its competitive elements and characters. Alongside the general improvements in Valorant<\/em><\/a>, Ziegler explained, “We want to be able to, like, every time we provide a new thing, it’s going to be disruptive.” The director unpacked this statement in relation to playable characters stating, “So at a two-month cadence, it gives you enough time to learn and stabilize your perception [of] the game in preparation for a new character to come in.” This methodology of keeping the game fresh will certainly appeal to players who want to continuously improve their skills and experience new scenarios. Furthermore, it may keep its competitive viewership entertained because of the constant stream of game-changing features.<\/p>\n

It is clear that Valorant<\/em> has plenty of updates<\/a> ahead and it will be interesting to see what fans think of the new features. While some will be pleased by a disruptive approach and more casual modes, others will likely worry about the spirit of the game. It seems that the team behind Valorant<\/em> has a tough balancing act but it is clear that they have several ways to keep the game fresh.<\/p>\n
