With the presence of masks, plastic barriers, and socially-distant children, it seems that creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are truly reflecting this contemporary moment.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the episode seems to be tackling more than just the pandemic. With the preview referring to \u201c2020 Problems\u201d in general, Detective Harris taking over as the kids\u2019 class teacher, and the mentions of \u201cslavery\u201d, it would appear that the special will also touch on ideas of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/twitch-black-lives-matter-video\/\">Black Lives Matter protests currently happening<\/a>. The show has had no qualms in the past tackling equally heated and incendiary topics (<a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/offensive-episodes-of-south-park\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">who can forget their 200<sup>th<\/sup> episode<\/a>, where they intentionally tried to be as controversial as possible?), so it will be interesting to see how they\u2019ll take on BLM and COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/controversial-south-park-episodes-hbo-max\/\"><strong>Controversial South Park Episodes Missing from HBO Max<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a description released by Comedy Central, it notes that \u201cthe kids happily head back to school but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman\u201d. Eagle-eyed fans have already noted some breaks away from the \u2018norm\u2019, with <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/half-life-alyx-teach-coronavirus-covid-19\/\">the boys\u2019 classroom featuring COVID-relevant posters<\/a>, and Cartman wearing PJs due to staying at home for remote learning.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/u6bEaBeOVkg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However, the supersized episode doesn\u2019t currently seem to be the beginning of a new season, as no further episodes have been announced yet.
