Two of XCOM 2’s biggest features are coming to XCOM: Chimera Squad.<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n XCOM: Chimera Squad<\/strong>, which Firaxis only just announced<\/a>, was pitched as a smaller-scale, standalone title. Fans rightly didn’t expect all their favourite features from XCOM 2 to return.<\/p>\n This is mostly true; Chimera Squad gets rid of perma-death, for instance, but some things never change. One of those being Ironman mode, which prevents players from save-scumming by overwriting their save file every time a move is made. <\/p>\n Ironman is the game’s ultimate difficulty, because it’s where losses can truly be catastrophic. Firaxis confirmed to USgamer<\/a> that Ironman mode will be there at launch. <\/p>\n “Failing a mission in Ironman will result in restarting the game from the beginning, along with previous Ironman rules of having one ongoing save with no manual save\/reload,” a Firaxis spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
