September 18th marks the beginning of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War <\/em><\/strong>Alpha for PlayStation 4 users. This short time demo of the\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/i>multiplayer experience comes loaded with different game modes, maps, and challenges.<\/p>\n

While the\u00a0standard multiplayer experience<\/a> is one of the showcase points, there is an additional focus on Combined Arms: Domination. This Combined Arms game mode is providing fans with a larger map, more players, and vehicles while layering Domination style rules into the experience. As one of the newest game modes to be revealed, it deserves an extra look at what exactly will be included in this new experience.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s <\/em>new game mode<\/a> Combined Arms: Domination will introduce players to a 12v12 experience set on a larger map. The main addition is that players will have access to Tanks, Snowmobiles, Wakerunners, and Gunboats. By strategizing with their squad, this opens players up to easier mobility in larger map situations while offering a smaller scale confrontation between vehicle combatants. The use of vehicles is similar to Ground War, but it does seem that Black Ops Cold War <\/em>will use a wider array of options than previously seen.<\/p>\n

Similar to traditional Domination, players will have to capture and defend multiple objectives between two predetermined spawn areas. This game mode does features Scorestreaks<\/a> and puts a heavy emphasis on player strategy rather then equipment. From fast mobility to stronger weapons, Combined Arms: Domination gives a much larger sense of war than previously seen.<\/p>\n

The Black Ops Cold War <\/em>Alpha will reportedly take place on two maps: Armada and Crossroads. Armada is the ocean map<\/a> that has been spotted in multiple trailers. Set in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean players will battle over a prototype nuclear submarine. This map features combat on the ocean with multiple ships, zip lines, rappel lines, and several seacrafts available for fast navigation. Based on the map design, the central ship acts as the hotspot of action while the open ocean offers multiple opportunities to claim the objective point.<\/p>\n

Crossroads is set in the frozen Soviet wilderness. Here players can use Tanks and Snowmobiles to travel across snowy tundras offering a frontal assault option to taking control of a central communications station. This is a wide-open map that Snipers will be sure to love with a single lone structure as the focus of the entire operation.<\/p>\n

The Combined Arms game mode<\/a> feels similar to Ground War but seems to take the action to the next level. It is unknown how the new game mode will be received by fans, but based on early testing many streamers report that it is an “epic” experience.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War <\/strong><\/em>is set to release on November 13th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n
