A few weeks ago, a Ubisoft support page confirmed<\/a> that PS1, PS2, and PS3 games would not be backwards compatible for\u00a0PS5. In response to public outcry, the language supporting these claims\u00a0was swiftly removed from the Ubisoft website. In a recent\u00a0interview<\/a> with The Washington Post, however, Sony CEO and President Jim Ryan stated that “99 percent” of PS4 games would be playable\u00a0on PS5.\u00a0<\/p>\n “The PS4 community will continue to be incredibly important to us for three or four years,\u201d Ryan would later affirm.\u00a0\u201cMany will transition to PS5, we hope if we do our job well, but tens of millions will still be engaged with the PS4.\u201d<\/p>\n Now that the PS5 prices and release dates have been revealed, make sure you get out there and pre-order the console (if and when you can!).
